    Hi all,

Welcome back to Badminton Central Forum.

The previous software that carried BC through the years is rather outdated and difficult to upgrade, and also lacking some modern feature, esp on the mobile side. We have upgraded to a completely brand new software that we hope will bring much improved user experience to all our members.

The software is new not only to you and also to us. There will inevitably some learning and getting used to. We will for sure have teething problem as we start spending more time on it. Please let us know if you do find issues. Please bear with us while we work to fix them.

It took a fair amount of time to migrate to the new software. Here is a glimpse of the amount of time it took:

    meanwhile, enjoy.

Here are some highlight and lowlight:

    - "like" works! finally. this is integrated into the software. the previous attempt I made I had to hack it in so it is not very seamless
    - mobile theme works. it will automatically change the layout if you are using it from tablet/mobile. it is really nice.
    - resizing window works. changing the width of the window it will reactively change the layout to fit.
    - choice of fluid or fixed width. there is a button on bottom left so you can choose between the two.

    TODO LIST:

    - the poll data is gone. not sure what happened but it didn't get carried over. :(
    - user title is wrong. seems like everyone is "New Member" - FIXED
    - unlimited edit not working - FIXED
    - tapatalk - FIXED
    - change background image
    - Alt-S for submit - no solution. only works in some brower.
    - The green spot that hypnotize BCer to come back to BC every day, hour, and minute - FIXED
    - Ads - partly fixed.
    - HTML Table - no solution at the moment.
    - closing own thread in FS forum
    - show Location in user side profile - FIXED

I am sure there will be more issues that pops up. Do post them here and I will look into them.

I think it can be quite big. But you need to upload a new one. It won't resize the old one.

Classic stuff, everyone is trying to look new and nice. To be honest, I preferred the old style, but as usual, this will probably grow on me hehe.

Yes. I can totally relate. Honestly, it took me a while to convince myself that we need an upgrade. However, at the end, there are just too much stuff broken about the old software that made me decide the upgrade is worth it. And this software is not cheap!

    This feels so weird.
I don't like it... haha no but seriously it'll grow on me eventually. Hopefully.
    The only constant is change

On behalf of everyone, I think I can say we truly appreciate the work you put in to make this forum what is it. Thanks for your service over the years, and here's to many more.

The links to 'last message' dont work.

And you can switch between two interfaces btw, now using the real forum default I think (and looks familiar from other sites)

I guess the unlimited editing is missing as well ;). Was going to say the link to last message doesn't seem to be working in all sections (only a couple). What I don't like about the Intrepid style is the sidebar to the left (probably because my monitor is to the right of me right now :D). Wouldn't be so bad if it actually were all the way left (seems optimized for 4:3 aspect ratio )

Next to the style selector you can select toggle to fluid style. so you can resize your browser to any size and the left bar will stick to the very left of it.

Let me check on the unlimited edit.

    1) How do you goto "last post" in a thread? That little arrow is gone. Best I can do is "last page".

    2) Is the "radar ping" around the green online dot necessary?
While reading posts one gets periodic stimuli remniscent of a peripheral vision test at the optometrists.

Until I figure out how to turn it off, yes, it is very much necessary. ;)

With the amount of features this new software has, I guess they can justify how it can cost more than a Yonex ZF2...
