Jiewen will fit in well in Malaysia . Hahaha...... Jiewen will fit in well in Malaysia. In Malaysia, it is not unusual to understand and to speak different languages. Therefore, what/how we listen and what/how we speak, it is how we prefer. .
I asked my Japanese friend what PJB was saying during breaks but she found it difficult to understand. I've heard JiaWen and Yang Wei converse in Cantonese on court during their match.
Again, it is because fhf is from Guangdong province in China. However, fhf is a Cantonese Hakka, from a city called Wei Zhou, which is in the heartland of the Hakkas. Similarly, Lin Dan and Chen Hong are Fukienese, but both are Fukienese Hakkas.
Just want to say... ..Gung Hei, ¶ÔÓä¿ìµÄ·ò¸¾ to our pakcik Choong Tan Fook dan makcik Zhang JieWen....
U meant Meizhou, heartland of the Hakkas? Really, I dun know Fu Haifeng is Hakka . Lin Dan is confirmed a Hakka from Shanghang, Fujian, where Hakka is the majority. But I dun think Chen Hong is also Hakka, I think he is Hokkien. Yang Wei can speak Cantonese? I thought she moved from Hubei (same province as Gao Ling) to Guangdong?
Chen Hong came from the same place as Lin Dan and both are Hakka Fujianese (Hokkien). One of my friends who married a Hong Kong woman is a team mate of Chen Hong when they were in Foo Zhou, the capital of Fujian. That is why Fujian (Hokkien) has for many years been China's men's provincial champions, and Guangzhou the women's.
So interesting. so many Hakkas, Lin Dan, Chen Hong, Fu Haifeng Is Choong Tan Fook Cantonese or Hakka? From the name, he can be both are u Hakka?
Chen Hong and Lin Dan are considered Fujianese of Hakka descent. Hakkas do not have a province of their own. They fled the north and spread all over Southern China, mainly in Guangdong and Fujian, and the word Hakka means guests. They are a sort of the gypsies of China. BTW, Hakkas are renown for their hard working women and their scholarship. Singapore's senior minister Lee Kuan Yew is a Hakka.
Yes I know that. Many Hakkas in Guangdong and Fujian. Are you also a Hakka staying in HongKong? I am a Hakka, my grandparents are from Meixian or Meizhou, Guangdong. Just wondering since you said Fu Haifeng is from heart of Hakka Weizhou. Do you mean Meizhou? If yes then we are from the same city.
I think we are going to be out of the topic. This thread is about CTF/ZJ and not about Language and Provinces.
In contrast, Lee Wan Wah's english is very much superior. See here, towards the end (2:54 to 3:10), where he comments on the World Championship being held every year instead of every 2 years: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=I8icrQbaNHY&feature=dir -dave
Jiewen will win the Beijing 2008 GOLD for China and then bring it for Malaysia . Jiewen is thinking ... "I will win the Beijing GOLD for China and then I will bring it for Malaysia". .
