i got information from the local chinese newspaper that actually yesterday was a holiday for japan..(not too sure) so the ambulance is not there.. maybe they din expect anything serious will happen during the badminton match... anyway, hafiz say he will play his best in the semis.. not only for malaysia but also specially for CHOONG HANN... (so touching..) gogo malaysia!!
Holiday? That can't be the excuse. Every sport must have the ambulance ready until the game finish. If a player coma or serious injured, we need ambulance immediately to send him/her to hospital. Anyhow, after see WCH smiling my heart feel better now.
Fyi.. this week is avacation week for Japanese. Its called Golden Week. Most of the shops are closed..but the thing is i never know what hospital is also closed hehehe no pun intended. But it think its is the organisers fault that they didnt look into this matter.
WCH is definitely not overweight. While he was at the Commonwealth Games, Melbourne 2006, and I was having dinner with him, Rexy and YKH at the Games Village, I noticed that WCH was very careful with what he eats. That dinner was after a match. I remember when I was playing tournaments, I would have eaten 3 times of what he had eaten. Yes, WCH is more muscular than LCW, but he is definitely not overweight. I hope WCH will recover well.
I heard from a news report that he will only be making a comeback next year, so i suppose he is going to miss the Asia Games too...
i think he will miss WC. as for how long he will need to get bak to court, it depends on his injury and recovery. if it's a minor injury, prob 3-6months. but from what i read from the news, he need immediate surgery to make sure his condition doesn't worsen. it sounds like his injury is quite severe. the article also stated that he might need at least 6months till 1year recovery time. which means... we wun be able to see him play for a long time. anyway, pray for him and hopefully he will get well soon and come back to the world of badminton ASAP!
Yeah many Malaysian players are very friendly off-court, especially WCH, CTF, and the MAS ladies. They were always delighted when approached by fans and I see them sit and chat with people from other teams such as USA. Yeah Gade mentioned in one audio documentary that he and WCH are good friends. Anyway, this is sad news to the badminton community as WCH is a tough fighter with great personality. Hope he gets better soon so that he can start playing again.
Although Taufik is not as close to Gade as WCH, I think he and Gade are cool with each other. I guess Taufik is the next closest player (of the top20) to Gade than the rest and it seems like they don't mind playing or losing to each other. This is why in the video interview of Gade before his semifinal match in the 2005 WC he mentioned that he rather play Taufik than Lin Dan, even though he admitted that Taufik is a more dangerous player when he's on form.
hehe, well, that's for sure...but overall who knows, the bright side, i believe with this unexpected news, it will be a blessing in disguise for the MAS squad..
