I agree with everyone here that in MS, LCw will sail thru final with ease. But his chance to win the title if he met CL or LD in the final? Not very good even if CL or LD had much tougher road to final.

He had worst record against LD and if LD reach final, it mean he at least retain some good form after semi retired since last year.

And against CL, recently LCw had more lost than win against CL. Not to mention CL is much younger than him. We all had to remember no matter how good LCW and LD is, they are old. Over 30.

Yes, they still had their skill but not 100% now. Both of their biggest opponent had to be CL. Based on age and skill, CL had the best chance to win this title.

I support some of the "silent" killers.. I mean Tommy and Marc - Preparing silently in the background. Since Tommy is placed in the other half of the draw(Opp to CL/LD), hence there is no chance of meeting them and making an upset. But have to meet LCW . Definitely, shall we see an upset there??

anyone with a link to the draw... I don't want to see a list of players taking part or qualifying for the draw... everyone seems to be talking about it, but I don't see anything in tournamentsoftware.

cool I found it in the facebook page of the WC13

Let's see whether Saina will win a medal this time, 4th attempt since 2009 ;)

Yeah, Towi/Liliyana is one of INA best chance to bag title beside the in-form Ahsan/Setiawan.

    I agree.
LCW should be careful to the Indonesians singles.

Here the records of LCW in the World Championships from 2005.

    2005 IBF World Championships
    Semi Final
    Lee Chong Wei[5] vs Taufik Hidayat[6] 3-15|12-15

    2006 IBF World Championships
    Quarter Finals
Lee Chong Wei vs Bao Chunlai 20-22|21-12|18-21

    2007 BWF World Championships
    R3
Lee Chong Wei[2] vs Sony Dwi Kuncoro[9] 11-21|9-21

    2009 BWF World Championships
Quarter Finals again lost to Sony
Lee Chong Wei[1] vs Sony Dwi Kuncoro[6] 16-21|21-14|12-21

    2010 BWF World Championships
    Quarter Finals
    Lee Chong Wei[1] vs Taufik Hidayat[5] 15-21|21-11|12-21

    2011 BWF World Championships
Final lost to Lin Dan 22-20|14-21|21-23

Each Taufik and Sony beat LCW 2 times, while Lin Dan and Bao Chunlai beat him 1 time. LCW only lost to INA's singels and CHN's singles. LCW's first challenge most be likely comes from Hayom Rumbaka in R2 :D

Rumbaka will most likely pull out from the competition. I don't think Indonesians are allowed to play with Israelis.

He would definitely play. In fact, indo has forged economic and trade relations with Israel ever since president wahid, the champion of pluralism in indo, took office. Indo indeed had a consulate in ramallah presided over by a diplomat with the rank of ambassador. To augment into it, the current president of indonesian badminton association(pbsi), gita wirjawan, is a harvard graduate, thus there's no reason he won't allow hayom rumbaka to play, or fight for his right to play should there's any party in indo who condemns hayom for playing against the israelis.

I agree and LCW will have a tougher match in Round 3 against WZM who had a match point in the 3rd set over LCW at INA open two months ago. Also, Guangzhou is WZM's home town since he was born there.

I dont think china can win all the five medals this time... the problem being md or probably ms...ina has chance to win md or even xd, if ahmad/natsir stay focused.... i do hope that different nationalities win the medal this time but the medal will go to the best (if there would be fair play).

Yup, they did it twice in a row, looks like no third time for clean sweep...
The worst result for CHN in WC arena happened in 1993 and 1995 when they only won 1 title each through WD and WS respectively.
