can someone help to explain how's that work please?

the latest MS list shows that

BCL(CHN4) at Rank 10 and R1 declined so that DPY(CHN4) at Rank 11 and R2 is now confirmed YES. but, isn't it max of 4 if all ranked within top 8, which isn't in this case?

that's why i think TS(INA4) at Rank 26 and R3 as NO as he is outsided the top 24, but how come (JPN3) at Rank 27 is now confirmed?

    it's all so confusing!

4 of top 8 are guaranteed spots. China is guaranteed only 3 spots, based on the 3 of top 24 rule.

BCL and DPY are on the reserve list. When the main draw is not filled, players on the reserve list enter the main draw based on ranking. BCL declined and DPY took the last allowable spot, i.e. maximum of 4. If BLC accepted, DPY would not have qualified, even if there is an open spot.

According to WChamp key dates, latest WR to determine seeds is 21st July. The Entry List (M/Q Report) based on 28th April WR. So confusing
Waiting the draw date, 25th July 2011 ;)

AFAIK The M/Q report is based upon the rankings as of 25th April, the seedings will be based on tomorrows seedings and the draw will be made on 25th

I find it strange that Xu Chen/Ma Jin are listed as CHN's 3rd XD entry when in fact they are still not eligible to participate (based on Apr-28 ranking) as they are ranked in only no 38; while Xu Chen/Yu Yang or He Hanbin/Ma Jin were supposed to be confirmed (as CHN3 and CHN4) in the previous lists.

Xu Chen/Ma Jin were not eligible only because He Hanbin/Ma Jin were, provisonally, confirmed. There are 48 spots. Ranking 38 is not too bad for a back up spot, especially when two qualified pairs of your own teammates withdrew.

Xu Chen/Ma Jin are in; Xu Chen/Yu Yang & He Hanbin/Ma Jin are out

    .
Here again, CBA, as a National Association, can select whoever they wish to field.

This always causes confusion to us BCers.:eek::eek:

It might cause confusion but CBA have to pick the players with the most chance of succeeding. Out of XC/MJ, XC/YY & HHB/MJ. CBA consider XC/MJ to be the strongest so they are selected.

Xu Chen/Ma Jin are now ranked 3rd in China's XD (BWF Rankings for 2011 Week 29)

    .
Who am I to challenge CBA in their selection of players? :D:D:D

    BTW, Xu Chen/Ma Jin are now CBA's 3rd ranked pair (based on the BWF Rankings for 2011 Week 29);

    http://bwfbadminton.org/page.aspx?id=14955

    Ranked No.1....Zhang Nan/Zhao Yunlei
    Ranked No.4....Tao Jiaming/Tian Qing
    Ranked No.17...Xu Chen/Ma Jin
