I read an info through Xinhua News Agency (english version), CHN will represented by 2 MS (Chen Yu, Qiu Yanbo) and 3 WS (Wang Yihan-Wang Lin-Zhu Jingjing) in today's Vietnam Open quarterfinal.

    MS QF -- MAS (3 representatives), CHN (2), INA (1), KOR (1), VIE (1)
    WS QF -- CHN (3), INA (2), MAS (1), JPN (1), THA (1)
    XD QF -- INA (4), HKG (2), NZL (1), VIE (1)

Unfortunately, the news didn't mention the player names (except Chinese shuttler) only origin country.

    Here's the link -- http://news.xinhuanet.com/english/2007-11/09/content_7036971.htm

It mean Yu Hirayama, Meemeak, Fransiska & Zhu Jingjing won

Why some info said that Yu Hirayama lost to TPE player ?

    MS Quarterfinals
Chen Yu [CHN] vs. Andre Kurniawan Tedjono [INA]
Hong Ji Hoon [KOR] vs. Kuan Beng Hong [MAS]
Chong Wei Feng [MAS] vs. Qui Yanbo [CHN]
Nguyen Tien Minh [VIE] vs. Roslin Hashim [MAS]

    WS Quarterfinals
Julia Wong [MAS] vs. Wang Yihan [CHN]
Yu Hirayama [JPN] vs. Sylvi Kurniawan [INA]
Meemeak Molthila [THA] vs. Wang Lin [CHN]
Fransisca Ratnasari [INA] vs. Zhu Jingjing [CHN]

My prediction of the winner is in red... Although I hope Andre won't crash today, but more than likely, Chen Yu will be too good for him...

    Chau-Hui [HKG] vs. Mel-Yoke [INA]
    Nguyen-Le [VIE] vs. Flavell-Cooper [NZL]

MAS has 3 representatives in the MS quarterfinals. 2 in the MD quarterfinals. 1 in WS... That's pretty good... :D

Sorry about XD... that category is basically dominated by INA this time around... just like in Vietnam Challenge a few months ago... As for WD, I have a feeling INA will be glorious this week... ;)

    MEN'S SINGLES QF
Chen Yu vs Andre Kurniawan Tedjono -- Andre has done well to fulfill his seeding, but, Chen Yu will be too much for him.

    MEN'S DOUBLES QF
Chen Hong-Ling/Lin Yen-Jui vs Bona Septano/Mohd Ahsan -- Bona/Ahsan have done well to beat the MAS pair and I hope they progress to the SF.

Rendra Wijaya/Fran Kurniawan vs Kang Myeong Won/Cho Gun Wo -- any match against a KOR pair is always difficult and Rendra/Fran will face a tough match. Can they reach their second straight Final or even win their first title here?

    WOMEN'S SINGLES QF
Hirayama Yu vs Sylvinna Kurniawan -- I hope Sylvi will progress to the SF.

Fransisca Ratnasari vs Zhu Jingjing -- unexpectedly, Nana has progressed to the QF. Can she go one step further and beat Zhu?

    WOMEN'S DOUBLES QF
Meiliana Jauhari/Shendy Puspa Irawati vs Yulianti/Nathalia Poluakan -- at least one INA rep in the SF and I think INA will take the title here.

Nadya Melati/Devi Tika Permatasari vs Tsai Pei-Ling/Yang Chia-Chen -- Nadya/Devi are quite experienced by now and I hope they reach the Final.

    MIXED DOUBLES QF
Mohd Rijal/Devi Tika Permatasari vs Fran Kurniawan/Shendy Puspa Irawati -- one INA rep in the SF and I think Rijal can take home a title here.

Hui Wai Ho/Chau Hoi Wah vs Yonathan Suryatama Dasuki/Meiliana Jauhari -- the Djarum pair to win!

Tantowi Ahmad/Yulianti vs Alroy Tanama Putra/Louisa Koon Wai Chee -- high hopes on Tantowi/Yulianti to win a title here....
