@ Maklike Tier: no worries - I still make an effort to get weekly games and escape the terrors of my new born!

@ Mark A: thanks for the feedback, much appreciated.

    Might just get one myself.

Got myself a 4U Onigiri and comparing it to my 3U BS12 (Onigiri vs. BS12):
    - wet weight: 90.6g vs. 97.1g
    - swing weight: 41.31g vs. 41.68g
    - balance point: 306mm vs. 290mm

A little surprised by the measurements between the two (original grip on, plastic wrap off, one RKEP G10 over grip). I will re-measure again later this evening to triple check (yup - triple checked and measurements are right)

Initial impressions after a 3 hour session:
    - pretty damn agile and quick for such a head heavy racket
    - didn't feel any slower than my BS12 as I wasn't missing any defensive shots or retrievals
    - definitely more oomph in smashes
    - plays with a bit more flex as compared to the BS12 (but very marginal)

I will re-string and give it a few more weeks to let the novelty of getting a new racket die off before passing more judgment but I am pleased so far.

See. Six grams that do absolutely nothing.

Guys, how head heavy and stiff is this compared to VT70?

I believe they are quite similar in terms of stiffness.
Not really sure about head heavy.

Yeah probably in the same class of racket, generally.

Definitely more head heavy than the original VT70 4UG5 (not etune) but faster swing speed.

Sounds like a logical upgrade from a VT70 then

Totally agree there. At least the 4U version.

The Onigiri is basically a 4U K6000. The only thing the YYS has in common with BS12 is the aerodynamics. Other than that, it is much stiffer and more powerful than BS12. Also less user friendly.

well, the Onigiri is closest to the TK6000, but it's not the same racket. It shares nothing in common with it except similar head weight and shaft stiffness. It plays completely differently on the court.

Been using my TK-Onigiri exclusively since I got it and it plays stiffer than the specs says it would. In comparison, I found the Duora 10, N50-3, N90-3, N7 and N9 more flexible than both BS12 and TK-Onigiri (I have played with all)

It's not unwieldy even though mine was about 306mm wet. Pretty damn agile but definitely won't beat a BS12 for reaction shots.

Overall, I enjoyed my time with it but a moment of rage tonight meant it is now in the bin. Would I buy a new one to replace it? No. Why? Just didn't sing to me in the end but I am glad I tried something head heavy in the 305mm+ range.

I now have an Onigiri and have commenced testing. Hopefully I'll review it in a week or so.

Oooh nice, I can't wait. I'm thinking of ordering the Japanese food item racket :p along with the JS12 when the JS12 comes out.

I'm looking forward to getting my hands on a JS12 but that won't happen until September/October. No doubt you guys in Asia will play with them before me.

Not quite red; it's basically the same as the K9900.

Nice try, Victor, but I want the real K9900 already.
