Victor Thruster F enhanced opinions and similar suggestions

Hey Badminton Central community !

I have been playing badminton for a little while now and would like to upgrade my equipment. To narrow down my racket choices that would align with my playstyle, I asked AI to ask me questions and select a series of rackets that would fit me (theoretically).

My point winning shots are often drops (cross court slice, reverse slice drop shot, stop drop and other deceptions of that kind) or smashes for punishing mistakes. I love TTY’s play style and would like to acquire a similar game style.

After some research, I have been leaning towards the Victor Thruster F enhanced. Other rackets I have came across are Ryuga II, lining turbo charger 75, arcsaber 11.

Have any of you tried these rackets or similar rackets before ? Please share your experience!

Sounds like if you are athletic enough for the stiffness, the 90K Metallic is what you are looking for. I'm a 3 years TKFE user. It's definitely not "clean" when it comes to slicing. It's way inferior to the 90K M in all control game. I was also able to generate more power with the 90K M than the TKFE.

Why did I stick with the TKFE? Less physically demanding and a good fit for rec play/minor tournaments.

Thank you very much for your comment and suggestion!

Although I would greatly consider your suggestion, do you have any suggestions for a slightly more budget friendly option of the same price range as the TKFE ?

The 90K and TKFE are within a few dollars of each other here in Canada.

I have not been able to find a TKFE alternative yet. I am always searching because I just enjoy change and new racket paint jobs. I LOVE my TKFE and everything about it for my play style but the paint job I am getting tired of. I have a friend that owns a club, so I can demo pretty much any racket and nothing is close to the tfke in specs.

HOWEVER, for the last 6 months I have been playing 50/50 between my TKFE and the ARS Hypersonic(not the HS+). The flex is almost identical, I am able to switch between the rackets between rallys and they swing almost identical. I have enjoyed it because I can play singles with my TKFE and if I'm playing front court doubles the HS is beautiful.

Main differences are that the TKFE packs a much harder smash and overall power but the Hypersonic is faster and crisper for the slices, drives and net play. So you can see why I am stuck! There is no perfect racket....so I'm enjoying juggling right now.

Ow wow! You really do like your TKFE 😂. Have you tried any other versions of that series such as the Thruster F Claw ?

If you love TTY's playstyle, why not get the TTY then.... ;) (Not the Ultima though cos its really ugly)

I personally have the TKFE, Ryuga 2 and Turbocharging 75C. (Also tried the TTY a few times since my friend has it).

TKFE: Flexible shaft, Slightly head heavy racquet. Personally didnt like the control that much, although the smashes are good.
Ryuga 2: Bascailly a TKFE+. Much stiffer shaft compared to TKFE, and more headheavy.
TTY: Shaft is similar stiffness to Ryuga 2, but i find it much more head heavy than Ryuga 2, and its quite difficult to do consecutive returns (if you are trying to push the shuttle onto the floor) as the head weight carries the racquet forward, and its difficult to pull it back. Although the smashes are great and the racquet is very repulsive. Control wise is good as well.
Turbocharging 75C: Headheavy and decently stiff shaft, althought i dont find it as stiff as the ryuga 2. This racquet smashes well, controls well. But do note that if you keep missing the sweet spot, you will get wrist fatigue, but this racquet for me was very easy to use.

Personally i started off with the TKFE, but currently am using the Turbocharging 75C and Astrox 77 Pro.
