It's been a few days since I restrung my HX800 at a higher tension and with a thinner gauge string. I'm delighted to report it's now playing really nice and I'm loving it. It feels so much sharper and there's just more in it. Funny I pick up JS10 and it continues to feel too light, albeit super-fast. Paul www.badminton-coach.co.uk
I found HX800 3u is lighter that JS10 4u. Yes, HX800 with thinner string in high tension feels fantastic!
24lb is too low, try 27lb it will feel better. This racket is a monster at 27lb. Since is very easy to use, I suggest u increase the tension. This racket is easy to use.
Unfortunately not everyone can dish out proper advice when it comes to string and tension. Especially when they just blast figures instead of asking the appropriate questions. robfitsy I'd suggest you go with your usual string and tension on it since BG80 isn't working the best for you.
Well if u play double ur always in good position, so high tension won't matter. Unless ur playing single.
lol why is true, double u have ur partner cover, so in good position to generate power. Compare to single is different. U should go home and get ur fact right before u talk.
What a huge load of bullpoop, serioulsy. By the way, has the X800 finally solved your lack-of-power problem? And also I am still waiting for the promised video of yourself playing.
Please gents. Ignore the child. He only proves my point that most people shouldn't even be trying to recommend tension numbers to anyone.
I am still asking myself the one big question: What should be the real reason to exist for the X800 and the Hypernano series in general? Should it really replace the Meteors? The blurred picture of the X800 that I have formed in my mind based on the reviews up to now is quite mixed and the list of highlight features is in fact empty. It's a medium balanced, medium flex, medium fast, medium powerful... so basically a medium-everything racket. And to target this as a high-end racket? I don't really get the point.
Idk man. I kinda see the HX line as progress for the sake of progress yet they're at least trying to do something new.
Other than WD players on MAS, IND, and KOR teams, no other pro players use this racket. This is not targeted as a "high end" racket like JS10, which is used by just as many MD pro players on the KOR and MAS teams. (Not that I'm implying anything re John and Paul's masculinity... )
