Both Wang Yilu and Huang Dongping have been playing virtually non-stop since the Olympics (then the 2-week China Nat'l Games, the Sudirman cup, Thomas n Uber Cups) , and here they are doing double duty at a Super1000 tournament. That , to me, is overreaching themselves. Be careful they don't risk injury.

Probably bad timing for the Chinese National games then, knowing what is to come.
Int tournaments are getting little... unless that's not their aim to enter ...

Done is done. The players do suffer the consequence tho.
Hope the Chinese team gets their rest.

Akane has this uncanny ability to outrun, out-retrieve and out-defend practically any opponent, and she's able t attack when the opportunity arises.

I'd liken her to the female version of Chen Long minus the height. Imagine she were somewhat taller, say, 1.7m will do, who knows, she may well be untouchable. But the precondition is she must continue to have that pair of "humongous" thighs.:p:D

An Seyoung might be trying to conserve energy in G2 for tomorrow's final but ended up having to play three sets instead as Kirsty Gilmour has other ideas.

Similarly, in the XD, the Chinese should close down more at the net, the Japanese knowing that the would not be able to cover the court well, their coach has asked them to no lift. So when playing the Japanese, there should be more focus on the net perhaps one step closer and to use the full court and high serve more.
It looks like it does, not good this is not good for final, she is going to need to move well against AY

Seems like the fast conditions helped the Japanese pair, from the highlights alone it seems that they had much better penetration against this particular pair than I'm used to seeing from them. Usually they really struggle to put the shuttle on the floor, especially when Wang/Huang are lifting well, but (in the highlights) that didn't seem to be as much of an issue for them. Also Higashino didn't seem to force her attack from the back quite as much, sometimes she gets carried away with her jump smash and goes for it at every opportunity, getting them into trouble in slower conditions where it's really not that dangerous.
Good win for them, I think that similar to Momota they needed some wins to bolster their confidence again. I'm fairly surprised by the result - maybe fatigue of the Chinese pair played into it, but at their age I'm not too sure about that.

Even she played like this yesterday as well against Sindhu. Sindhu got frustrated when she was not given any opportunity to play her game. Hence that scoreline. I always thought her game is more or less similar to Akane. But she has height as advantage. That's why, she was better when she defeated Akane with that scoreline.
This time , Akane will be ready. What I love about Akane is , she is extremely calm player among all the top players. No celebration, no shouting and she is a mini beast. I always like to say it. She can go on and on for long time if she is fit and extremely consistent with her strokes.

I dont know why they allocated last match for Momota.
This match would be one of the one sided matches.

Somehow...the stars in pelatnas are allowed to do what they want...no discipline...their form depends on the mood

I think they wanted to put VA in local prime time. And you can see that in all five categories, both semis are played (almost) right after each other to give the two finalists (in the same category) the same amount of rest for the final. We have seen cases in the past where one MS semi final was played at 9 AM and the other at 5 PM; usually with the home favourite playing the early match and thus having a much longer resting period. Fortunately, that seems to be a thing of the past.

Also, the MS QFs were played rather later yesterday (also in local prime time), so it is only natural that they are also late in today's schedule.

So I wasn't the only one who saw this as an issue. She doesn't look like a badminton player at all. She's...thicc.

Me too. She means business. No unnecessary drama, no delaying tactics (I hate that about PVS), always trying to give her best and play entertaining badminton. Ever so humble in victory and gracious in defeat, she's amazing.
