Just received my AS2 90k 3U . Please have a look on the pictures the cone has a code VNxxxx while the shaft is marked made in China. It means this is manufactured in China but coded as Vietnam? Thanks
Yes correct. Although Made in Taiwan Victor rackets are supposed to be superior. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I have TKFE and 88D pro both in 4U. I like to play with medium to hard feeling string for feel and response. When I first tried TKFE my muscle memory and brain got confused as there is very minimal feel. This happens if you are so used to wooden handles, But after few weeks of play i got used to it. Having the plastic cone absorbs most unwanted vibration and it's good for your elbow and shoulders so it's a trade off l.
First choice is 88D pro. I like that solid feel when I smash. I will choose TKFE when I am tired or on a bad day.
Used the 90KII 4U for 2 hours on Tuesday. Apart from the minor vibrations from breaking in new string, virtually no other forms of vibrations were detected during my games. But having come from a 3U JS10 racket, I find it really hard to do baseline lifts with a lighter 4U racket I'll play a few more sessions before posting a review.
I had the same feeling first, my feeling is that the stroke to access power is different on the 90Kv2 compared to JS10 maybe due to the different stiffness. But when you adapt and get it right there is more power in the 90Kv2, I feel, like significantly more. You will find your clear too long hopefully in a few sessions
I will be playing tonight for 1-2 hours with this racket in Europe climate winter time. The hall is not heated and hopefully will get used to it quickly. I checked one European website that sells the first version and I am surprised the price was up considerably by about 60+ euros. I think it is selling fast that's why they increased the price due to high demand.
Played with this 3U version last night 7 degrees outside temperature, strung with Exbolt 65 last December 16 in Asia and travelled back to Europe Dec 17. The racket has the original grip and i just put a plastic protection tape in the racket head which covers from 8 o'clock up to 5 o'clock. Feels a bit head heavy to me but find it easy during clears and drives. Smashes were really good. Shuttles used were not the usual Yonex brand so I had few misfits during the first few games. I will need to use it more to really evaluate. It feels a bit head heavy compared to my old AS 90k. Maybe the protection tape made the little difference? I think so but since it was also my first time to use the Exbolt 65 so these are the factors as well for me to consider. Overall, the racket delivered as what I expected.
Correction: the racket protection tape covers the head from 8 o'clock to 4 o'clock. Exbolt 65 tension 25 lbs.
More reviews. So I've owned this racket (90K2 4U) for just more than a month now. Lots of hours played. I must say this is one of the better rackets to upgrade to if you're looking to upgrade. My old racket was JS10 3U so here's a good comparison Speed: JS10 > 90k2 Accessibility: 90k2 > JS10 Power potential: 90k2 > JS10 Stiffness: JS10 > 90k2 Clears: 90K2 > JS10 (If you're not careful it might go out lol, so more potential for higher clears) Drops: JS10 > 90K2 (? might need a bit of practise but so far this is what I feel) Smash: 90K2 > JS10 Vibration: 90K2 hands down Control: Maybe JS10 has more control as I'm still trying to get the string right for this racket. I think a lot of the gains come from the free core. The lack of vibration did not feel like lack of feel to me. Power transfer is seamless with this racket. With the free core rackets, you virtually don't feel any kind of vibration at all. If you're advanced and below I totally recommend trying out the free core; in 2023 you want to use a free core racket Professional players can choose whatever racket and still be good at it though I tried using a wooden handle racket just now and I can immediately feel the vibration upon serving. My friend tried it and he thinks he gains more control and was able to place the shuttle wherever he wants it. I'd love to try out the TKFE and 100X to see if they are better or not but for now I'm very satisfied with the 90K2. Does anyone know a stiffer free core racket ?
A bit unrelated but I am eyeing for Ryuga 2 now because of the freecore. I have 100X and I love the freecore, it's just a tad too headlight for my preference
