..unfortunately, i asked some of the players and they all told me they ate at the hotel's restaurant...i don't think anyone of them would want to try one of the street food hawker stalls..:([/quote]

Maybe its team manager restricted them from taking out side food, to prevent food poisoning problems.....;);)

..limsy, i did ask some local folks and you are correct that they have cactus dishes and use it for tequila (mix it up). However, when i asked them where i can try them, they all said none close to where i stay (at least the dishes). So, no, i didn't bother to go out there to find them...I will try to see if i can get them in L.A. (yes, there are lots of Mexican restaurant in L.A.).
For the tequila mix (blende) or whatever you want to call it, one of the folks told me, what they do is take out the juice from the base, yes, it's sweet and use it. But if we let it exposed or stay out too long, it'll become hard. There is a word for it, but i forgot..
So, you tried the dish or just the tequila?..why do i have to try first before you tell me?..

Btw, here are a couple of cactus pics for limsy:cool:
Cactus plants for you, found them just around the stadium..

..i don't know...maybe they did try, but at a "safer" restaurant..
All i know is the INA team and the MAS team (and perhaps other Asian countries) brought their own cooking tools and foods. One INA player told me, after the SF day, that their food supply has essentially ran out as they were eating them a lot during the first few days (i noticed she was carrying a KFC box in her hands)..:p
    ..a picture of a pizza?..George, they look and taste the same:eek:..No, i didn't try them..:p

..btw, during my trip to the official hotel, i met and chatted with Zulfadli's dad for over an hour and that turned out to be a pretty informative chatting (lots of stories, from BAM to how he missed Los Angeles:p). Yes, he used to live in the U.S. for a while. To my surprise he is very fluent in Indonesian, almost no accent at all (I also found out that Zulfadli's mom is Indonesian). Apparently he was in L.A. in the 90s and worked as a coach and at M'sia's embassy. And Zul is American born. He told me, one time when Howard Bach was playing in M'sia, he came up to Mr. ZS and asked him if Zul would want to go back & play for the U.S. since the U.S. lacks very good Singles player; add to that Zul is a U.S. citizen.
...Very nice gentleman and i told him hopefully to meet-up w/ him in KL soon..

    About those chinese restaurants..

..apparently those chinese restaurants only serve buffet. I went to check out 3 chinese restaurants and they all serve the same dishes/type of foods. There is only 1 or 2 chinese restaurants which serve a la carte dishes. The buffet dishes, they look like normal chinese dishes but no, i didn't try any of them.
