Have to pay tribute to Chen Hong's masterly display against

Taufik & Gade, as the underdog.

Too bad he had to play LD who obviously knew how to win ,

lying low and shifting gear in the last set.

Chen Hong's performance erases all the negative things abt him in the past,

I was hoping he bt LD and repeat Ji Xin Peng's feat.

Maybe there is so much good in the new scoring system

    chen hong vs LD

    watched that match on cctv5.
CH seem sluggish, especially on the 3rd set.
LD pace actually increases going from 1st to 3rd set.
At match point for LD, CH came alive and pick up several consecutive hard fought points. How's that happen, why CH holding back until match point?

CH is just not young anymore. Fighting three strongest players in the world is just too much for him physically.

According to Chinese media, CH said at the last point, he wanted to show to the audience that he did not want to give up. He wanted to give himself a good ending and wanted to give the audience a perfect game.

Mr. Chen is a nice guy. a 实在人。//salute.

i see i see. Yes, CH was cheering on the crowds on every one of those hard fought points - saying that i can be just as good or better than LD if i have more juice left.;)

I was surprised that PG lost to CH... I thought Gade will beat CH without too much problem... Guess I was wrong.. :(

PG in fact did well. I haven't seen him being so quick in several years. The first half of the 2nd game even reminds me of the No.1 genius 6 years ago. But you have to admit he is a man of 30 and CH is playing 100%...

By the way, does anyone here know whether Ch has beaten LD after LD assumed no. 1 ranking in the world?

Yap.Chen Hong defeated Lin Dan in All England 2005 and a tournament (Japan Open maybe? can't remember). Actually i think that Chen Hong is a good player. He can play really well and this time he has proven it again. Well done, Chen Hong!!

CH is just too old to beat LD anymore. Whenever he and LD meets, the one who can attack all along wins. Skillwise he is superior while LD is more clever on court.

After this world championship i now have a lot of respect for CH, such a great sportsman .. we rarely see that on court !! All the crowds were cheering for him when he began to show that he won't give up !!
So for me he's not really unlucky =)
