TheStar MULHEIM: National singles shuttler Lee Tsuen Seng made grounds in his bid to stay in the national team by reaching the third round of the German Open. Tsuen Seng, 25, who is under a six-month probation, defeated P. Gopichand of India 15-7, 15-4 and German Bjoern Joppien 15-10, 15-6 in the first two rounds. He will meet top seed Lin Dan of China in the third round. The only Malaysian casualty was Kuan Beng Hong who lost 11-15, 10-15 to Anders Boesen of Denmark. The other singles shuttlers – Wong Choong Hann, Lee Chong Wei, Sairul Amar Ayob and the Hashim brothers Hafiz and Roslin – all reached the third round.
