He is the most consistent MS player, he has played 16 tournaments during last 12 months and has lost in quarterfinals astonishing 9 times. Of course from now on he will be unseeded and could face top-8 players on first round.

HSP’s 5 week tour came to an end. I could see significant improvements in his game, compared to how he was a few months ago

Beside Asiad, this is one of the best match of Kenta i've watched, good defence, nice attack, probably improving his stamina and accuracy and he can be a tough task for Chou tomorrow

    • Local hopeful Khosit Phetpradab brings cheerful for home fans to stun more fancied opponent Kidambi Srikanth who's still far from his finest, struggling to overcome shortage of self-belief, 11-21 / 21-16 / 21-12. Phetpradab will take on Ng Ka long who beat him last week in Tokyo meet. Strong favourite Chou Tien Chen sails smoothly into quarters and will set up an interesting clash with Kenta Nishimoto. Indonesian fourth-ranked player Shesar Hiren Rhustavito outlasts his idol Lin Dan in three games, leaving China doesn't have MS representative once again in last eight of top-tier BWF World Tour event. Rhustavito will find Malaysian rising star Lee Zii Jia for a place in semifinal.

Chen beats second Korean foes in a row, Kim Ga Eun straight forwardly whilst Intanon drops opening game to oust compatriot Nitchaon Jindapol. Other quarterfinal stage encounters will see Sayaka Takahashi against Indonesian petite Fitriani while home potential young player Pornpawee Chochuwong will up against Hong Kong resilient Cheung Ngan Yi.
    • Fierce competition in men's doubles since the beginning of tournament, all four seeded pairs at bottom-half draw have been vanquished by the underdogs. Alfian/Ardianto continues negative trend, the Asian Games silver medalists couldn't pass preliminary round in back to back tournaments, this time lost to Rankireddy/Shetty.
