yeah Daniel looks real tired from start of G3 and both of them are tired towards the end. Leo played well today. Weird to say but it should have been more comfortable than that, they had 14-10 lead. Well, not sure if they have enough energy against AaronSoh but i'd still like a rubber match.
CTC won his first big tournament at the age of 24 (French Open 2014) and did not won anything until German Open SS300 4 years later. He's been consistently on top 5 ever since and won multiple SS (albeit only SS500). Some players are late bloomer and he is still world ranked #2 at 31 years old.
Sameer Verma is not bad player. He was in dormant mode for the past 1 year or so. Quite happy that he has beaten a high ranked player. Will get his confidence back.
He is a defensive player. But he often tend to dive on ground to retrieve the shuttle which in turn make him vulnerable to injuries.
i cannot disagree agree with either of you, but, of that '2nd tier' group of antonsen/ginting/jc/lzj i think lzj has the most promise. i see an all around better racket skill set, more power, smoother footwork and more stamina from lzj. he's just missing a sense of urgency. if he sorts that out i can see him easily rising above the group. ginting is quick and explosive but can't keep it up for 3 games. i don't see lzj ever being a dominating #1 but his upside is way higher than his current state of play.
is there no rising MS/WS star in Chinese National Team? i'm saying like 17-19 years old. Gone are the days of young LinDan and the WS eras where every year there are super talents. I remembered those days when ZhangNing is retiring, all her replacements are already lining up. i wonder if its because the demographic problems that the most of the world other than Africa/SouthAsia is facing and its starting to show post 2000s talent. Also for this tournament, we didnt see Zhang BW or Stoeva sisters..are they retiring?

None at the moment, the quantity >>>> quality. Their "high standard" seems declining, Wang Zhiyi is touted to be future star but it's still premature to make judgment since all CHN players never participating international tournaments since AE, March 2020. Zhang BW also Stoeva sister skip this Asian Leg but not retired.
World #1 is Momota, #2 Axelsen, who's deserved as #3 player? For Shi YQ case, All England title is questionable since his opponent was LD at that time, what happened if LD didn't beat LCW in quarters then Shi meet LCW in final? I guess all of us know what's the final result would be...World Tour Final 2018 is the most "real/genuine" impressive result by CHN Golden Boy.
It will be a interesting fight between Anders Antonson and Rasmus Gemke for the second place for Denmark in the tour final. If they go out of the tournament in the same round Anders will go , if Rasmus is going one round further than Anders he will be the second player. Edit: Anders gets a Walkover against Kidambi Srikanth* in the 2nd round. If Rasmus win agains Sameer Verma they will play against each other in the 3rd round for the place in the Tour Final. * Kidambi is roommate from Sai Praneeth B. who has been tested positive for Corona , so he has to withdraw also.
Just now watched the replay. Sameer verma was exceptionally well at net whereas Lee was powerful in his smashes. Sameer's defense and net play won this match, i would say.
If this is what we have to do, so that I believe that Olympic cannot occur by this way. What would happen if someone was positive with Corona before the final match.
It seems like you know lots of inside news. I did not see any walkover from Srikanth so far. He said he was tested 4 times already after he arrived here. All of them came negative. So.....
Not inside news ;-) Kidambi has to withdraw cause his roommate was tested positive. https://bwfworldtour.bwfbadminton.c...sitive-covid-19-case-at-toyota-thailand-open/
