Nope, the player who concedes retirement can't play in next round of same tournament.
The Chinese are real good, especially when it comes to extremely close game. Do they have mental coaches or some sort? Seems like they are better @ handling nerves than others
Is your comment based on logic, ethics or law?
admin at @badmintontalk have another view btw:
Three hour meditation in the morning, three hour zen meditation in the evening to detach themselves from the lust of 'result' has been the secret to why they are so dominating in close shave matches.
Logic to be honest, but actually BWF has "special" and "extraordinary" rules for TEAM event
List is out. No SYQ in CHN lineup
Could be a smart move by INA putting FajarRian who didnt play QF and had relatively easy match yesterday against HeZhou who played both matches
and rotating gruelling Gideon out of the lineup with a booming Daniel smash for MD2. Will have wanted to see KevinDaniel play.
Lineup is out.
MS1 Ginting vs LGZ
MD1 Fajar/Rian vs He/Zhou
MS2 Christie vs LSF
MD2 Marthin/Kevin vs Liu/Wang
MS3 Rhustavito vs Weng Hong Yang
Thank god CHN team doesn’t field SYQ today. Also an interesting combination of Marthin/Kevin against Liu/Wang.
I think INA will grab the title. Still rooting for CHN tho, want to see LSF plays and He/Zhou development as a pair.
INA v CHN
~ Well, the sudden headline maker Shi Yuqi is replaced by Lu Guangzu, INA selects Alfian/Ardianto as MD1, the Indonesians should be wary for the unheralded Chinese young brigade.
Line-up is out. Team INA is fielding a scratch pairing of Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo/Daniel Marthin to play safe and counter Liu Cheng/Wang Yi Lyu.
Anthony Sinisuka Ginting has a 2-0 record against Lu Guangzu, but his form is not exactly that stable in this tourney. If the one that beat Chou Tien Chen shows up today, he will play a very important role in securing the all-important first point.
In MD1, Fajar Alfian/Mohd Rian Ardianto should have the edge over He Jiting/Zhou Haodong.
If Jonathan Christie can reproduce his form in beating Wang Tzu Wei and Anders Antonsen, he may just bring the Thomas Cup back to Indonesia after almost 2 decades.
I personally think that CHN never expects to go all the way to the Final. If not, they would have brought their MD1 Li Junhui/Liu Yuchen.
That's make sense, they have favorable draw here, if they met DEN yesterday, don't think so they could progress into finale.
That's a bit of a surprise.
A/A will beat any of the Chinese pair with ease tomorrow. So will Marthein and Kevin. And then Ginting should have no problem with LGZ.
I am rooting for Indonesia to lift the Thomas Cup again, first time since 2002.
So are my kids apparently. Their coach is from Indonesia, he promise no physical training next week if INA wins.
That's the thing about China. No matter the circumstance, they find a way to squeeze out every ounce of performance with whatever resource they have. Kind of similar to Japan with an incomplete/less experienced squad. It's just that China did it better, as always.
Does this means SYQ is really injured? For China not to field him, he must really be incapable to play for some reason. I’m not sure where China are going to get any points now.
Daniel Marthin? Is he good?
Injured or not, it would be politically unwise to field SYQ. I don't think Team China had much of an option here.
He is good, you'll see today.
CHN should have fielded DZJ/WC. They are the future right? Not sure how fit is HeZhou and LiuWang after the battle yesterday. It looked quite intense when i watched LiuWang vs JPN MD2 towards the end. How much do they have left in the tank?
They may be able to squeeze one point, max 2 points, but honestly, I don't see how China can win this.
We always complain teams don't give new players a chance, this is the perfect chance in the most significant team tournament there is.
China is favourites for MS2, MS3 in my mind, on paper INA is favourite in all 5.
