Well, this is a huge opportunity for Antonsen. The highest seeded player left in the MS tournament is Srikanth Kimdambi. No Momota. No Viktor Axelsen. No Ginting. No Christie. No Chen Long. No SYQ. No CTC.

If Antonsen doesn't win this WC, he may never win one again.

seems like MAS national players are playing not well, instead the MAS independent players are playing better than them...
after independent player Liew Daren entered to SF in WC 2018, Ong/Teo is latest to enter SF in this WC...

I don't know if that pirouette of LZJ is actually a weapon or a weakness. At least for that shot against Antonsen, he seemed inconsistent with it.

If Prannoy wins this, it could be 3 players from India in the MS semi-finals. Wow, I would have never thought this was possible before Indonesia withdrew from the WC.

This is why I don't say anything about LZJ's chances of winning unless it is guaranteed.

One, injuries could happen, and unfortunately it occurred to LZJ.
Two, scoundrels that think that they're hilarious would pop up to make fun of a player's setback.

    Yeah very funny.

Commentators: Redraw should be done. (cause their fav player lost in R1?)

I am not sure if rules should be made based on exceptions.

So why "scoundrels" can love Lakshya Sen, the one who beat his idol and love Loh Kean Yew ?

    Ask very friendly neighbours!

My goodness, what an upset, the biggest in WS here so far, Zhang Yiman giving IR as good as she gets, even outwitting her illustrious opponent at the net !

Incredible, Intanon's WC quest comes to an end at the hands of an unlikely opponent who's not expected to trouble her, who would've thought. I'm in disbelief.

Zhang Yiman forces me to look at her differently now. Still, tomorrow is another day, a different proposition, I certainly won't get carried away as Akane is or will be, for sure, one match too many for ZYM.

Nevertheless, a sensational performance by Zhang Yiman. Keep it up !

I'm late but I am so glad Ong/Teo won! They got a bronze in World Championship. I really feel they deserve it too, they're so skillful. I hope they can make it even further, anything could happen.

On top of that, they beat the hot shots Lee/Wang on their way to their first ever WC semifinals. They're independent players, so that's very interesting.

BAM should start to take notes, maybe leniency is one of the ways to de-stress their players, to relieve them off of tremendous pressure.
