You've got to feel sorry for PVS somewhat though. How many bronzes and silvers has she accumulated now at the majors?
Pretty sure Marin hasn't done anything for the last year, and suddenly she wins the World Champs right? What a legend.
Got to love Momota's immediate post-game celebration though. Is that the most muted celebration for a major victory?
Wow, did I hear that right - Marin is the first WS ever to win 3 World Champs? What else does she have to do to claim the GOAT status?
Win the Super Series Final at least once please and maybe European Games, but this is not the most important one, only to complete her trophy collection
I honestly think she might be able to. Her style is a style that doesn‘t suffer as much as others when it comes to nervousness, different hall conditions, slow shuttles and so on. If she gets to peak just right she has a good chance.
Yes a 2nd Olympic Gold would seal her GOAT status surely. She really has dominated the majors from 2014 until now. Just amazing for someone from Spain.
She might be just young enough then. She will have a sharp drop-off with age when her physicality starts to go
i agree, but at 29 i don't see it happening. in 2024 the next generation of ws players will be just as fast as she is now, and she'll be slower. yup. talk about making the most out of your peak years!
Marin popping out of nowhere to win the title lol. I'm not sure about her previous 2 titles but for this tournament, i think this is luck. I think Sindhu is unfortunate, she also always plays 2 Chinese or 2 Japanese, its very difficult mentally.
Sindhu should be very experienced against tough opposition. She just cannot convert at the final hurdle.
an observation I have about today's China single players are, thry rnds to make many mistakes costing them many points instead of losing to a good shot. too eager to kill, lack of stamina, no idea? skill wise, i am sure they have all the strokes and technical abilities. mental strength?
