I didn't realize that Mark Caljouw is actually a good player. Made the final of US Open and pushed Lee Dong Keun to three tight sets.

Beat good players like Ajay Jayaram en route too.

Wow. Brazil player beats WWK of Hongkong in 3 games. Strictly speaking, hongkong player retired in the middle of 3rd game when he was trailing 4-11

Contrary to popular belief, I don't have a "boy". I really enjoy the way Momota plays and I hope he does well in Nanjing, but my allegiance lies with a "girl", who still looks way too chubby, is out of form, and most likely won't make a big impact in this tournament.

Oh I don't see that! Maybe that win was just a fluke.

    Aye, you caught me.

But regular saina is different from Gopichand's 30 days trained for Special Events, after splitting from Vimal Kumar, Saina.
You are in for a shock.

So far the MD seeds (Shi YQ, Viktor, Nishimoto, LD, Prannoy) are through to the 2nd round with straight sets win.

Yeah, slight disappointed with your deduction skills here. When I said "won't make a big impact in this tournament", it should have been clear I meant someone from India. :)

CL vs grinding player HJH in R1, it can sap energy if the match goes long

Even if HJHs smash is poor he should play it more for the sake of variation

You are absolutely wrong. Nothing personal. In a lighter note, how come you expect him to say Akane from Japan. He was replying to Nine tailed fox. Obviously, he meant an indian player.

Chen Long slow to warm up and settle in, but he's OK now. Still I've yet to see the Chen Long I want, the ROG version.

Even Shi Yuqi, understandably for his maiden appearance, was jittery at first.

No wonder most of the CHN players don't really relish playing major events on home soil where even the higher ups and gov't officials look in and give their words of encouragement tinge with expectations, too pressurising, only a handful actually enjoy and even thrive in such an environment.

Incidentally, Cai Yun in his interview on zhibo.tv yesterday picked Momota, Axelsen, Chen long and Shi Yuqi as favourites for the crown, he didn't choose Lin Dan for his stamina issue is the main concern, esp demanding at his age.
