According to news reports in Thailand, Ratchanok Intanon was injured in the Indonesian Open but the BAT says the injury was not serious and that she'll recover in time for the WC and AG.

I'm worried. When authorities in Thailand say something like this, the opposite is usually true.

Obviously, Team KOR's emphasis is on the Asian Games, Asia's equivalent of the Olympics, not the world championships where even MS Jeon Hyeok Jin and WS Lee Jang Mi rejected their participation.

Apparently, for them as for some Asian countries, the prestige, standing and national glory of the quadrennial Asian Games outweigh the annual world championships. And I hasten to add, even more so for the team event than the individual event.

Jeon Hyeok Jin also Lee Jang Mi as well will skip Asian Games too.
The tight schedule also happened four years ago, 2014 Copenhagen World Championships (25-31 August) and 2014 Incheon Asian Games (20-29 September).

To me, Natsir/Tantowi's skipping the WC, not defending it, only means that they are not confident of their chances and instead choose to give a go at the Asian Games individual event, their last and final opportunity to do so.

Otherwise, I'm thinking they can still compete in both the WC and the AG individual by skipping the AG team event to get some needed rest in between.

i think it's reasonable choice.ASIAN games being held in home country,plus the big prize promise to winner from government and sponsor,and they should also see liliana condition too...i don't think she can play back 2 back tournament with her current condition ( did y'all make a joke she only play w/ one foot..lol)....
