I'd still favor LD against SWH--SWH just doesn't have a major weapon. SK though is apparently shaping up to be a terrible matchup for LD.
Wow upset upset... Ahsan/Rian defeated 1st seed LJH/LYC in rubber set Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
AP/Sikki could have stunned there much more illustrious opponent CP/KRJ in G1 but just like SC they escaped, wasted lead in g2 as well, even when they are leading, they are talking like making new strategy and body language changes every point they loose. Why lack self belief when you are doing so great?
Yes I know what's the basis of your post but SWH can be a pain in ass, when he gets accurate, also if he includes a tini tiny attacking factor and starts taking initiative he can be frustrating for his opponent. LD's stamina is low, he can't attack all the time, and SWH is good enough to delay the rally a shot or two at will.
Honestly, looking at the opponents lined up for Lin Dan from R1 all the way to the final, he will be physically stretched as the tournament wears on, no two ways about it. Hard to say if he can make it through to the final , let alone win it, realistically speaking. Well, let's see how it goes. It's already pushing it to expect a 34-year-old to win a major sports title, one that is extremely physically demanding at the highest level.
The thing with SWH though, is that he has a tendency to play neutral rally shots, and LD would just love that. In contrast, Emil Holst was playing high-pressure shots most of the time today, leaving LD rushed more often than not. Plus, LD has shown himself capable of hanging on with SWH in 3 games (see MO this year). I don't think stamina is going to be a big factor here.
Much better performance in g2 by the Indian ladies, they got everything, good movement, fitness ,power. But just cause they haven't achieve much, allows them to have second thoughts in their abilities. Though a really confident game this time. Let's go...
I'd venture to say that both Son WH and K Srikanth are lucky to be slated to meet Lin Dan in the semifinals, not earlier, if they were to play Lin Dan in R1/2/3 of a six-round event, my bet is clearly on Lin Dan.
Yes that's a good point. But also, SWH can easily return those "not so powerful anymore" cross CT smashes which Emil Holst allowed to be winners, esp in g3. Yeah SWH is sometimes too reactive too passive for my taste, but he can rush to the occasion, he has shown in the past. Look at the team Championships. And stamina is a problem, since this event has on extra match, and he has to be economically, it'll be a problem. Yeah but let's hope that's no problem, let's hope KS be the one who challenges him
Speaking of SWH and SK, are they set up to face one another? I haven't been able to check out the draw yet, been caught up with work these few days.
Yes, in QF Meanwhile Ashwini/Sikki failed again there opponents were under so much pressure and the Indian ladies crawled back in the decider, only a pt between them, but a second wind as the inner demons prevail. That kind of self belief only come after you achieve something significant
Escalated it further in R2, plus will be pretty hungry for revenge after his two straight defeats in two weeks in close contests against KS. Who also seems to mind business and finish as early as possible in his respective matches. Tomorrow wont be the same for either of them
Hahahaha...Lin Dan went from being The Greatest Ever to now been labelled Poor Man's Tien Minh Nguyen. Nine Tailed Fox still his Number 1 fan no doubt.
