28th May is end of phase II.
BWF will decide whether to use BWF wild cards or not on 8th May.

[There will be no wild cards for the event, with BWF deciding not to use its quota in any of the five categories.
Indonesia too will not issue any wild cards since the hosts have players in all five categories.]

Chong Wei's performance at the Sudirman Cup will give them a reality check of what to expect at the world cup.

So that was not a clerical mistake. BWF had no intention to use wild card and did not reserve a spot in the provisional list.

    1. It is best to read the entire Eligibility Regulation as a whole, not just one small section in isolation.

    2. One can also use past practices as precedents.

    3. If still no answer, consult other sports with similar rules.

The last paragraph: There will be no wild cards for the event, with BWF deciding not to use its quota in any of the five categories.

Indonesia too will not issue any wild cards since the hosts have players in all five categories

Without wild card by BWF, Lee CW participation to Jakarta WC 2015 depends on BAM decision.

This is now BWF's regular policy now after strong opposition (ironically led by LCW) to the wild card given to LD a few years ago.

    excellent!

Any similarly precise and concise term to describe ppl who finally do the same thing that they used to be actively opposed before (e.g. strongly object to credit card to someone else years ago, then go to apply the same credit card a few years later when they wanted themselves)??

(especially when they made opposition, they presented like they are the most righteous person in the world; whilst when they want to do it themselves, they presented like they are the most innocent ppl in the world)

This is strange. Also Lee Hyun Il gave his place to Lee Dong Keun which is more understandable.

Korea seems splitting Jung Kyung Eun/Kim Ha Na & Chang Ye Na/Kim So Yeong for OG 2016.
Thailand will also introduce new MD and XD (I believe that Sapsiree will replace Saralee to pair with Sudket in XD, has Saralee retired yet?).
Hongkong will reunite London OG WD pair, Tse/Poon; so that Tse/Chan and Poon/Chau will not go to Jakarta.

Chong Wei gives place to Chong Wei.
Hopefully, Malaysia will send Chan/Goh also. They just need to withdraw one of two current XD for Chan/Goh slot.

Another eye-catching thing for me is that all Brazilian players in 5 disciplines decline to play in Jakarta?
Mmm... I hope not for political reason.

Looking at the number of "decline" in WS and WD, Sun Yu, Ou DongNi/Yu XiaoHan and Ma Jin/Tang YuanTing will get in for sure. It would be just up to the team.

Shockingly, there was not a single "decline" in MD. And in MS, the declines seem all pre-arranged to give the spot to another player in the same BA.

Great, thanks for the info. Sun Yu improves so much that she should be among the contenders, imo. I noticed the number of 'decline' is matched by the number of 'invited', let's wait and see.

The inclusion of ODN/YXH and MJ/TYT will intensify the battle for supremacy in WD.

It'll be nice to have Tian Houwei in it too. MD is OK, not too hopeful CHN stand a chance of entering the final, perhaps at most a bronze; the luck of the draw also plays a part
