This. Why would you expect the Indonesians to win? Endo/Hayakawa have done really well over the last year, only thing they really struggle with is closing out Finals to get that tournament win. SF is gonna be very tough though.

it will be huge if marin defended her world title here. .look who's standing on marin's way, sung ji hyun. .who was already feeling the heat against sindhu today, sung ji hyun's not the best physically. .that should help the spainiard.

ABD is the most complete batsman. He can do every shot (some that haven't even been named yet), in any situation. Amazing batsman.

Fu Haifeng pushed a lot of shuttles into the tape... and under... I can definitely see him retiring next year after the Olympics... LYD went on the offensive like a machine gun... it paid off in the end. It was a wonderful game...!!! You can always catch the replay...

I suspect Lin Dan's convincing victory over HKV yesterday playing with his usual rallying stroke kind of game might have lulled him into complacency or a false sense of security. Against a fast and powerful attacking player, I'd expect him to up his pace to match such an opponent, instead he is content to do more of the same and this time he was caught off guard by JOJ.

I remember the last time he beat JOJ, he injected pace when necessary as evident in the deciding third set. I'm surprised the lesson is lost on him.

Tried to disagree. Thought of weaknesses of current avatar ABD. Found none. Agree completely. So your point is?

Without having seen the game, I think he really couldn't follow JOJ's pace. JOJ, other than HKV, is pretty adventurous around the net, which should have created attacking opportunities for him and pushed LD away from that area a little. Against HKV, LD could always play a slow shots to the net without expecting a real punishment, and if JOJ has taken that away from him, it takes away one of the most effective ways of LD to slow down the pace...

Looks like Saina will keep her streak alive. Hope she breaks it though.

Lee/Yoo better than before and fu/zhang slightly worse...
I think Lee is ready to work from the back and the rotation works really great here

Nowadays it's difficult to predict WYH's form, she is practically a yoyo, sometimes brilliant, sometimes mediocre, all happening in one and the same match, not just in the whole tournament.

JOJ was completely closing down the net. Playing net kills on LD's net shots and gaining attacking opportunities by playing tight to the net after LD's drops. Lin Dan wasn't able to stop him from attacking.

I should expect the winner of this WS semifinal clash to go to the final and face, most probably, Marin, and then it's 50-50 who takes the title.
