From BWF website: First held in 1977 and it was originally held once every three years (1977, 1980, 1983). From 1983 to 2005 it was held every two years, and from 2005 onwards it was held every year except during Olympic years where the winner of the Olympic title is considered the ‘world champion’ in all but name. So it's supposed to be around mid year like Olympics, and in the tradition of Olympic games where players are chosen by countries, not points alone like in SS final.
It appears BWF have taken off the round of 64's livestream from their YouTube channel. I was able to view them when they were first scheduled and appeared in my subscriptions, but they are no longer there.
I recommend you to watch Fox Sports channel as they will broadcast LIVE WBC exclusively from Day-1 onwards, Kompas TV will air selected matches. Because December is slated to stage BWF Super Series Finals (a culmination event of 12 leg Superseries tournaments).
