Korea are going to make it 1-1, Fukushima/Hirota are sh....ng themselves. Takamatsu aren't what they used to be, but they'd never lose that match.

This jpn pair has repeatedly demonstrated their lack of mental fortitude in big games. Can’t believe jpn made them WD1 in such a key match...

Slow-starter Chen/Jia bounce back to their gameplan, 21-17 for the Chinese pair.

Come on CQC/JYF, time to prove that you girls are indeed the current world no. 1 and the reigning World Champions!

Well, they're national champions having beaten the other two pairs and they are the highest ranked. Can't really leave your highest ranked pair out of the semi final, I suppose. But look how utterly, utterly passive they are. And the Koreans aren't even good. General level of play from all Japanese ladies except NO is really weak. Questionable preparation to say the least.

How unfortunate that THA WD lost G1, but they are leading in G2.

Pairs like takamatsu can understandably lack motivation going up against their national teammates after having won the biggest prize in Badminton. But put them into an international match and they rise to the occasion, which apparently is the opposite of these two who crumbled against Denmark multiple times in key matches and now against a Korean scratch pair.

Fukushima/Hirota just lost the match, they kind of have the same pattern with Kamura/Sonoda very unstable in the big event.

Their mentality is on full display. When a point goes wrong they linger and mope on it instead of letting it go and focusing on the next point. The cumulative effect just digs them in deeper and deeper as the match goes on. The entire time they looked about as fired up as wet noodles.

To be fair at this point I wouldn't be surprised to see KOR vs THA in the finals tomorrow.

Short of NO bursting a knee, there’s no way she’s gonna lose to LJM.

Couldn't have said it better. It is the exact same thing with AY when she plays TTY and NO.
NO on the other hand is an absolute mentality monster who eats Marins for breakfast. The pressure she is under after that debacle by their double and against a player she recently lost to and she gives a total masterclass in the early stages here.

Favourites will usually come through, because this is team event. Its just unlikely every match can end up as a shock even we wish to as neutrals.

There is still gulf of difference between CHI/THA and JPN/KOR.

A wild finish, CQC should get a warning for the way she celebrated after the win.

Assuming THA WD are not up to the challenge, CHN expects LXR to deliver the decider vs Busanan?
