Well, you can't accuse the US of taking the tie against Vietnam lightly. They relied on their heavyweights to get the job done. In the end, they probably bit off more than they could chew.
This is the weak Malaysia team when they don't have Lee Chong Wei, Goh/Tan, Chan/Goh and you cannot win, just blame to yourself. There was a big chance for India to go to the quarter final round this time and the chance is gone.
I think SV did the damage to team India.Indian team's strength was Singles and with SV losing out it was already inevitable. Had it been SK then India would have won it. Good played Mas congrats.
Sindhu & Srikanth gone. what a waste. Nothing special with this Malaysia team. and somehow Malaysia gets a break with 1 more rest day, compared to group winners.
Well done Malaysia team. Indian team deserved to lose. Time for Attri/Reddy to retire. They have been at same level or stagnated since the last 4 years. Fielding Sameer Verma against LZJ was a big gamble. Lee Zii Jia is not an easy opponent. I believe KS would have done the job for India. Certainly , LZJ has improved and found his new confidence after being low for quite some time. Time for Sikki Reddy to change her partner and play IC/GP level tournaments. Better pair Kuhoo Garg with Ashwini Ponappa. At least Ashwini will guide that young player. I don't see Attri/Reddy and Ponappa/Sikki going anywhere or improve. Ponappa does all the hard work only to be let down by the GOAT in choking Sikki Reddy. Sorry for being so harsh. But they don't deliver when things are expected of them. Blame goes on to the management too when they knew we have an advantage in MS and WS. At least , field the best possible lineup as we had a 55-45 or 50-50 chance to win against Malaysia. Against China , it will be 0-5 or 1-4 . Classic example of overconfidence and blunder in decision making.
