Looking at these draws....i REALLY cannot see China losing this one. Big mistake to leave out Sigit and Halim. China look so very strong, how can you compete with that? Korea not bad, Denmark looking very good too, Indonesia look weakened. So i predict a:

    Any guesses?

nah, indonesians doubles still look stronger. all three pairs are very good. they could all hold their own.

china would have to ensure that they win all their singles, and against taufik and sony there's always the probability of losing one.

i still think china will win though, but it won't be that easy.

The mayority of us (may I say this ?) will say Indo and China in the final.
    I also think the same.
In my prediction, Denmark will very difficult to go to the final.
But Malaysia and Korea (2 black horses) are the serious opponents.

Also my prediction, Indo will count on 3 points from 2 doubles and one of Sony - Taufik.

Indonesia no longer has Rexy/Ricky and Candra/Sigit that scare everybody. I think the top 5 pairs in order are:

    1. Choong/Lee
    2 Kim/Ha
    3. Passke/Rasmussen
    4. Eriksen/Lundgaard
    5. Fu/Cai

It will hard for Indonesian to gain 2 points from Korea, Malaysia, Demark and China. I think China and Demark will meet in the final. And Gade can't still beat Lin Dan and China win again 3-2.

none of the doubles are very dominant. it is still possible for all three indonesian pairs to beat all of these guys.

    Agree with you Nrlll9,
If we see the doubles in top 16, none of them is/are dominant.
So.... the possibility is wide open.

    Qidong :
Yes..... Indonesia has no Rexy/Ricky and Candra/Sigit more.
Do you think that the other pairs aren't scare to Alven/Luluk of Eng/Flandy ?
    I don't think so.

Even Indonesia with out Rexy/Ricky and Candra/Sigit, there is/are more pairs to come forward to replace them.
Now Alven/Luluk is taking over the torch. And there is also a young pair Markis KIDHO/Hendra SETIAWAN who sit in the waiting room to be 'brood'.

In the histery, Indonesia has never short of double players.
I can give you the names :
    Tjun Tjun/Johan WAHYUDI
    Christian HADINATA/Ade CHANDRA
    Kartono/Rudy HERYANTO
    Rexy MAINAKY/Ricky SUBAGJA
    Tony GUNAWAN/Halim HARYANTO
    Chandra WIJAYA/Sigit BUDIARTO
    HIAN Eng Hian/Flendi LIMPELE
    Alven YULIANTO/Luluk HADIYANTO

There were also non-fix pairs :
    Liem Swee King/Bobby Ertanto
    Hadibowo/Eddy Hartono
    Eddy Hartono/Rudy Gunawan
    Rudy Gunawan/Bambang Suprianto
    Denny Kantono/S Antonius

Now you can see, there are 3 pairs of Indonesia's double in ABC semi final.
What is this mean ?

True, I think any of the current top four indo pairs can beat any other pair in the world!!

Indonesia is still THE country of men's doubles! :D

Yes, the 2 Indonesian pairs are still very good. But looking at the previous 2 or 3 TC with Ricky/Rexy and Chandra/Sigit, I think the Indonesian were very confident that they can gain 2 sure points from double against any teams other than Korea. Do you think their coaches is as confident as the previous TC's?

of course they are less confident, china is almost impossible to beat

still, they would laugh if they won this one, and there is a good chance that they will.

In the last TC in Guang Zhou, Indonesia vs Malaysia.
The stategy of Indonesia was to get 3 points from : Taufik, Candra/Sigit and the third single Hendrawan.
But Taufik lost to Tsun Seng (umpire incident). But the 2 nd double Halim/Tri Kush could get the point which should be taken by Taufik.

After the matches, Christian said that he did team up Halim and Tri Kush to shock Malaysia, because Halim/Tri Kush had never played in International tournament before, so no one know them.
He had a feeling that Halim/Tri Kush could beat Wan Wah/Tan Fock.
Day before the final Halim/Tri Kush was already trained to beat Wan Wah/Tan Fock, especially after Wan Wah injured in Japan Open a month ago.
He also said that Taufik had a metal problem and very labile.

    Here are the results :
Marleve MAINAKY vs WONG Choong Hann : 5/7, 5/7, 1/7.
    Candra WIJAYA/Sigit BUDIARTO vs CHAN Chong Ming/CHEW Choon Eng : 7/3, 7/4, 7/2.
    Taufik HIDAYAT vs LEE Tsuen Seng : 7/1, 5/7, 2/7, 7/2, 3/7.
    Halim HARYANTO/Tri Kush ARYANTO vs LEE Wan Wah/CHOONG Tan Fock : 8/7, 7/8, 7/1, 7/3.
    Hendrawan vs M. Roslin : 8/7, 7/2, 7/1.

Now.... Christian is also a man behind the screen.
He sets Candra and Tri Kush together to joint Alven/Luluk and Eng/Flendi.
I think the strategy now is : 1 point from Taufik or Sony and 2 points from the doubles. But which 2 doubles, I don't know.

If we look at the world ranking :
    China : Fu/Cai and Sang/Zheng
    Denmark : Paaske/Rasmussen and Eriksen/Lundgaard
    Korea : Kim/Ha and Lee/Yoo
    Malaysia : Lee/Choong and Chan/Chew

I think who plays in the 2nd pair (Eng/Flendi or Candra/Tri), they will be able to beat the 2nd pair of the opponents.
