much will depend on how serious is the outbreak in Japan. China is seeing a slow down in new cases. Korea is the next big worry now. these 3 countries are near to one another and see big movement in travellers across them.
I wont be surprised if they cancel the Olympics or put it on hold for some time, but lets see what happens.
No. About the deaths, the number in Iran was 8 dead people and 6+ in S. Korea. By statistic in China, the deaths will be around 2% in compared with the cases. So that, I think the number of cases in Iran can be 400+ and 300+ for S. Korea. And the number of dead people in Iran or S. Korea now surpass the the number of dead people in Japan. The situation was worse day after day. Now, Italia's case was bad as well.
Italy Iran & Korea looks bad. Japan looks moderately bad but no one is fixated on China anymore..in fact China looks better now but other countries get worst , so whats the point ? I feel like all containment has failed. Italy has become very strict South Korea will take some time to recover. They had a lady who spread it to many people in a big religious group and that group didn’t want people to wear masks. They have some strange logic and now look what they caused. Iran is the biggest worry. Not much information and their facilities might not be able to cope. Japan hopefully will become more careful. They really messed up big time with handling the ship.

So many tournaments are cancelled now that I wonder what will happen with the qualifciation points and so on.
i think the deadline still remains the same, end of April. Unfortunate for those who are banking their hopes on the initial schedule of tournaments during this period to win a ticket, LD, SWH, etc. But then if the Olympics is cancel, it wouldn't matter at all.

Japan decided to close ALL schools Kindergarten, Junior & Senior High schools. So basically all schools will be shut from March 2 onwards. Not good folks. Even Korea didnt close its whole school system, so i think Japan knows what they are doing. Its just that its probably too late, should have closed a month earlier. The handling of the cruise ship wasnt good and it was unfortunate for Japan. Of course, Japan hasnt been testing as much people like Korea did.
Except that the outbreak becomes a pandemic, like worse than the swine flu, I doubt that the Games gonna be cancelled actually But precaution still have to be taken and, depending on the severity of the outbreak, any spectator shouldn't be allowed (and thus also no tourist influx specifically for the Games, purpose of visit will always have to be stated for any nationality).
