    Copied from http://www.tournamentsoftware.com/sport/teammatch.aspx?id=19467&match=115

WS1 Wong Mew Choo [MAS] - [IND] Nehwal Saina
WS2 Wong Julia Pei Xian [MAS] - [IND] Murgunde Trupti
WS3 Kaur Anita Raj [MAS] - [IND] Mutatkar Aditi
WD1 Wong Pei Tty [MAS] Chin Eei Hui [MAS] - [IND] Gutta Jwala [IND] Kurian Shruti
WD2 Lim Pek Siah [MAS] Haw Chiou Hwee [MAS] - [IND] Nehwal Saina [IND] Balan Aparna

At a glance, MAS has the upper hand. MAS looks superior in all 5 matches, especially in the doubles.

Other ties of consequence (which decide group winner and runner-up) :

    Group A: MAS v TPE
MAS may drop a doubles match but ultimately will still win in relative comfort

    Group B: KOR v VIE
Comfortable for KOR, and SIN to place second

    Group C: JPN v IND
JPN superior in doubles, but IND may take all singles. Hard to call. Predict JPN 3-2

    Group D: HKG v THA
Another one hard to call. MS1 should go to Boonsak. MS2 and MD1 are up for grabs. Predict THA 3-2.

    Group W: JPN v THA
    JPN comfortable

    Group X: KOR v SIN
    KOR comfortable

    Group Y: TPE v HKG
TPE will probably take both the doubles matches. But can they steal one singles match? WS3 is an unknown variable and may well decide the tie if both Wang Chen and Yippy win. Prediction: TPE 3-2

    Group Z: MAS v IND

    Men's Team
Sri Lanka vs Macau -- an inconsequential match.

Malaysia vs Chinese-Taipei -- MAS to stroll to a victory, thanks to the strength of their singles. But, as hcyong said, CT might steal one point from the doubles.

Philippines vs Cambodia -- another inconsequential match.

Japan vs India -- Japan to edge it out, thanks to their 2 doubles and probably Sho Sasaki.

Korea vs Vietnam -- no question, Korea to win it comfortably, but, Nguyen Tien-Minh could always surprise us.

Hong Kong vs Thailand (MATCH OF THE DAY) -- expect a cracking match to the wire...hard to say who will win. If Chan Yan Kit can somehow beat Boonsak Ponsana, Hong Kong will have the edge. At the moment, Boonsak Ponsana, Sudket Prapakamol/Phattapol Ngensrisuk and their third singles can provide the victory they desperately need.

    Women's Team
Korea vs Singapore -- no question again, Korea to top the group.

Malaysia vs India -- Malaysia to win it and top the group.

Japan vs Thailand -- Japan's cuties will power them to the top.

Chinese-Taipei vs Hong Kong (MATCH OF THE DAY) -- another cracker which is expected to last the distance. Wang Chen and Yip Pui Yin are expected to win 2 points for Hong Kong, but, Chien Yu-Chin/Cheng Wen-Hsing and CT's third singles have the edges over their Hong Kong counterparts. The key will be the second doubles, which I think will also favor Chinese-Taipei. Zhou Mi's absence is indeed a huge blow to the Hong Kong team.

Saina needed to win against WMC for IND to have a glimmer of hope. Now that WMC has won the WS1 (only just), looks like MAS will cruise.

Both WMC and Jun Jae Youn were heavily stretched by Saina and Xing Aiying respectively. 3 game hard battles for both.

Jun Jae Yun nearly lost, winning the second set 21-19, after losing the first set 13-21. I think Xing Aiying was exhausted as she lost the third one easily 12-21.

Similarly, Wong Mew Choo just scraped through, taking it 22-20 in the second set, also after losing the first set 15-21. The third set was pretty close as well at 21-17.

Facing Singapore next, Malaysia will have some problems.

We tend to forget that Saina Nehwal is a very capable player.

Just got back and scanned through the early results. Must say both Saina and Xing put up great efforts in their matches. Judging by the scores in the second games, both could have won and closed out their matches in 2 games. I guess in the end, experience prevailed, and JJY and WMC pulled through. MAS fans must have had many a heart attack (hehehe)
