Just hope KJ would win this one....to boost his WR and be in top 4 ......to make sure Chn have only 2 representatives in Olympic 08.......this is the only way to reduce the chances of match fixing by the chn.....in olympic in August...08

may be you think to replace the world no 5 by one that probably 100 or 200 places behind him is good for badminton or olympics.

    certainly not me.

NO,..thoes with 100th.or even 200th behine him wont even get a chance to get into main draw in SS......not to say in Olympic....

KJ is currently at 5th. WR....CJ is 4th.....if KJ manage to get 4th position.....then Chn will only have 2 representatives in their Olympic team....

And.....defeinately....good for badminton....if Chn play it fair ...without match fixing.........;)....

Presumably your refenece of match fixing is for the national coach decided to let the player with the better chance of winning to have an easier passage by instruct his/her teammate to default the match. This may not be good for the sport or the paying public and definitely not the player that defaulted the match but it’s the national coach’s responsibilty to maximise the chance of his/her team to win. Sometimes that might not work but in most cases it’s an advantage. Do you really think most of the coaches will not do the same, given the chance? For the coaches, this is professionalism, nothing else.
What you have to understand is for most of the countries, regardless of sports, Olympics is a team event.
As individual as running, how many times you have seen the long distance runners from Keyan ran as a team, taking turn to lead and tried to worn out the opponents. They only ran against each other at the very end once they got ride of the rest.

PG has to get himselves ready for the Olympic.....so he would be able to recover with 100% fitness for Olympic.....never mind by skipping EC 08...

As at April 3rd, KJ and TH are 1778 and 1792 points respectively behind CJ in terms of world rankings.

    #4 CHEN Jin CHN 60280
    #5 Kenneth JONASSEN DEN 58502
    #6 Taufik HIDAYAT INA 58488

Since ABC and EBC are considered as GP Gold, the winners will be awarded 7000 pts, runners-up 5950 pts, 3/4 4900 pts, 5/8 3850 pts, 9/16 2720 pts, 17/32 1670 pts etc.

A title for KJ/TH + a SF finish (or worse) for CJ will cause CJ out of top 4????

TH is the defending champion....so he have to defend his 7000 points......

CJ has to enter final........to be able to play in Olympic....

If CJ enter SF only.......then KJ have to win EC to top CJ by 322 points....
and CJ will lose his Olympic ticket........:p

i think it's far more likely for KJ to win the EBC than for CJ to reach the SF of the ABC. the lineup for the ABC this year is pretty intimidating, it's going to be a tough tournament for many.

Ville Lang of Finland is likely the replacement. I've seen him play in SO.He has decent skills. Just lack of experience because he's still trying to get past qualifying in SS.
