Surprised there isn't a thread for this already, anyway, here's some of the results for the Semi Finals. MS: Sho Sasaki (Tonami Transportation) bt Yuichi Ikeda (Unisys) Kenichi Tago (NTT East) bt Kazumasa Sakai (Unisys) WS: Kaori Imabeppu (Panasonic) bt Eriko Hirose (Panasonic) Minatsu Mitani (NTT East) bt Nozomi Okuhara (Omiya-Higashi High School) MD: Hirata/Hashimoto (Tonami Transportation) bt Saeki/Taohata (Unisys) Kawamae/Sato (NTT East) bt Endo/Hayakawa (Unisys) WD: Fujii/Kakiiwa (Renesas) bt Maeda/Suetsuna (Renesas) Matsutomo/Takahashi (Unisys) bt Matsuo/Naito (Panasonic) XD: Taohata/Takahashi (Unisys) bt Sato/Nishiyama (NTT East) Hashimoto/Fujii (Tomami Transportation/Renesas) bt Kamura/Yonemoto (Tonami Transportation/Panasonic)
There's no shame losing to Mitani, Both players are the future of Japanese WS. Nozomi will get there one day, just this year she'll have to settle for the SF. She's proved enough to get herself into the Japan "A" Team, for next season.
Should be added to the National Championships thread shouldn't it? And been discussed for the last couple of days already http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/forumdisplay.php/291-Japan-Professional-Players
I forget we have a national championships thread, cause that is in February where most of the other national championships are held...
minatsu lost to kaoru in the final.. further info will update tonight..a bit disappointed that minatsu failed to win the title because i though it would be an easy win for her after beating nozomi
Final results Kenichi Tago bt Sho Sasaki 21-17, 21-15 Kaori Imabeppu bt Minatsu Mitani 21-9, 24-22 Kenichi Hayakawa/Hiroyuki Endo bt Noriyasu Hirata/Hirokatsu Hashimoto 21-16, 21-14 Misaki Matsutomo/Ayaka Takahashi bt Mizuki Fujii/Reika Kakiiwa 13-21, 7-11 (retired) Takeshi Kamura/Koharu Yonemoto bt Kumiko Nishiyama/Shoji Sato 21-19, 21-7 * Mizuki Fujii injured her right knee, suspected torn ligament or ruptured achilles tendon. A very bad ending for Mizuki because they were actually leading in the 2nd set 11-7. Initially, I thought it would be great if Mizuki and Reika can win the All Japan title because Mizuki is going to retire next year. It's really a disaster today.
