    INA WD as expected advance to QF. INA has 4 pairs, CHN has 3 pairs and THA has 1 pair. By the end of the day, I hope at least one remains.

    Nitya underwent knee surgery in December 2016, they withdrew at season-ending Dubai SS Finals. Yup, it's exciting to see new faces from China, Indonesia, Denmark, India, Malaysia, etc.have been emerged to international scene.

    QUARTERFINALS (03.00pm) => https://www.tournamentsoftware.com/...B0B597-B92D-4154-83D2-9DB40D722845&d=20170210

    Huang Yuxiang became the highest seeded MS tumbled yesterday, followed by Hsu Jen Hao (7th seed), Ihsan Mustofa (9th) and Firman Kholik (16th). The underperformed 24 years old Huang bit the dust, couldn't maintain his opening game victory and dropped next two games to Anthony Ginting, 21-19 / 16-21 / 12-21. The battle between INA-CHN future players, Ginting against Zhao Junpeng will be interesting to watch, scheduled as fourth match at court 1. Both Zhao and Ginting pocketed bronze medal in 2014 WJC where Lin Guipu and Shi Yuqi captured gold and silver medal respectively at that time. Some promising talents also march on to last eight, Aditya Joshi will take on Kantaphon Wangcharoen and Malaysian teenager Lee Zii Jia has tough task, strong favourite Tanongsak Saensomboonsuk. The oldest quarterfinalist here, Tommy Sugiarto will face Thai challenger Khosit Phetpradab.

    The unranked Japanese WS Natsumi Shimoda stunned more favoured Pornpawee Chochuwong in thrilling match that ended with 24-22 in deciding game. Shimoda will meet reigning World Junior Champion Chen Yufei, meanwhile top contender Busanan battled hard to clear second round hurdle, Gao Fangjie. Barring any big upset, Busanan v Chen will face off in semifinal. At bottom half draw, the quarterfinal round follows the script, 4th seed Aya Ohori has Chen Xiaoxin and Nitchaon Jindapol will be tested by Singaporean Liang Xiaoyu.

    All seeded pairs in top-half draw were already ousted, recent MAS Masters champion Angriawan/Hardianto are favoured to progress to next round, they involved in fierce battle to down INA-MAS combination Setiawan/Tan BH yesterday. China experimenting partnerships, Liu C/Zhang N will meet India GP Gold runner-up Lu CY/Yang PH. On the contrary, four seeded pairs as expected secured quarterfinal spot, second seed Alfian/Ardianto get 6th seed Huang KX/Wang YL and home representative Kedren/Puavaranukroh will take on Malaysian hopeful Chooi KM/Low JS.

    INA Women's doubles do well so far in this tournament, all of them have tough rival to book semifinal spot. Two scratch combos Haris/Rahayu, Polii/Sari will challenge the mighty Chinese, Bao/Yu and hot favourite Chen/Jia respectively. Another two, Awanda/Istirani also meet China stumbling block Huang DP/Li YH and Nuraidah/Pradipta have the well-improved local pair, world number 10 Supajirakul/Taerattanachai. The frontrunner Zhang N/Li YH look good to go further here, an upset in mixed doubles category was created by home lower-ranked pair Jomkoh/Supajirakul who eliminated third seed Alexander/Oktavianti in last sixteen.

    I have a feeling sooner or later one of the INA young guns will make it to the top 10 consistently and outshine Tommy Sugiarto, whether he can be another Taufik Hidayat or not, is another matter altogether.

    Over the top celebration for beating Aditya Joshi ! Please Kantaphon . Come back to earth. He threw his t.shirt to the crowd and jumping like a child. Don't forget, his racket is already on air.

    Chen Xiaoxin being demolished by Aya Ohori , losing her confidence and touch, making more errors.

    Aya Ohori is impressive, I expect to see her in the final.

    Similarly, Busanan is thumping Sonia Cheah.

    Give him a break. He is just a youngster. He had disappointed his countrymen when he lost easily to SFX in the WJC. Now that he has done well to enter the SF of a senior tournament in his home ground he deserves a little celebration after the impressive win.

    No problem for AG to win. ZJP has a weak defence. The China MS in this tournament is not good enough. I think the Thailand player CW should be able to win this tournament.
