Okay a summary of Korea performance here. One representative each for MS, WS, WD and MD category in the quarterfinals. (4 players advanced to the quarterfinals). No representative for the XD category.

Oh forgot to mention. Wang Yilv / Zhang Wen also created another big upset by winning over Mohd Ahsan / Hendra Setiawan today 15-21 21-11 21-14. looks like the World Champion is really struggling to win matches off late.

Whoever would win the WS from this final 8 would have earned it big time. It's almost like the Dubai SSF field.

At home, the Chinese players shine. Especially second tier players who have no pressure to win...
Wonder if they could repeat this performance outside homesoil

The seedings for this tourney might have been prepared on a week when SN was #1

The matches lined up for Ct 1 TV and Ct 2 are a bit disappointing. Only Chen Long vs Viktor Axelsen and Saina Nehwal vs Nozom Okuhara afre featured on TV court. Ct 2 is better, featuring Lin Dan vs Hu Yun, Wang Yihan vs Tai Tzu Ying, and Lee Chong Wei vs J O Jorgensen.

But the Wang Shixian vs Carolina Marin, Li Xuerui vs Sung Ji Hyun, and Shi Yuqi vs Son Wan Ho, are in Ct 3. How I wish the WSX - CM match is on TV court or at least Ct 2 where livestream is available.

I guess it's still only the QFs, the organizer would like more people to come watch the crowd-puller matches in the stadium than put too many of them on TV court.

Wait a minute, I realize we already have on TV court yesterday matches featuring Lin Dan, Lee CW and Wang SX, so I think the organizer wants to have a more even spread and try to please as many fans and viewers as possible. And it's quite likely we might get two semifinal sessions tomorrow all on TV court.

Still, only two singles matches on TV court today is rather unbalanced. Difficult to satisfy everyone indeed.
