LD when he thinks it's not necessary won't do a jump-smash, a normal standard smash with a short lift off the ground will do.
By not hitting hard that easy put-away, LD lets SS get it back and after a few rallies even lost the point.
Lin Dan playing a very economical game, not doing anything more than necessary, even his smashes are more like placement shots.
The game isn't over yet but i'm confident Liu Xin will finish off Ratchanok ------- Next up is game of the day for me XD Ahmad/ Natsir - Zheng/ Cheng Wonder how the young Chinese will do against an elite pair.
Sho Sasaki is another amazing late bloomer, playing his best badminton from age 27/28 onward, beating Chen Jin at least twice and Lin Dan once (at the INA PSS 2011).
By not playing a lethal smash, Lin Dan often allows his opponent to get it back, occasionally with interest.
And Liu Xin is through to the semifinal, disposing of Intanon in two straight sets, 21-15 and 21-18. Liu Xin is much more consistent than Han Li and a better player too.
Lin Dan has been complaining about the lighting in the tournament hall, saying it's too bright which bothers him when he has to look up to take the high shots.
