Little surprises in Team Malaysia Thomas Cup selection, no Zulfadli for Thomas Cup, he is the 3rd highest rank Malaysia MS player. BAM technical director Morten Frost selected more experience players Chong Wei Feng and Goh Soon Huat as the 3rd MS. As for MD, no promising youngster Tan Kian Meng (age 22) in the line-up. Uber Cup squad, the inclusion of Goh Jin Wei will surely provide more firepower to the team, based on her current ranking at 61, she will be playing as 2nd WS. Uber Cup team captain is Goh Liu Ying, this will be her 2nd Uber Cup as she featured in 2010 edition.
at least got new pair Teo Ee Yi/Ong Yew Sin as substitute pair to either Goh V Shem/Tan Wee Kiong or Koo Kien Keat/Tan Boon Heong...
Team Malaysia Thomas & Uber Cup players appearance(s) from year 2004 to 2016. Dato Lee Chong Wei (7x) is the longest serving team member in Malaysia Thomas Cup squad since 2004, followed by Koo Kien Keat (6x) and Tan Boon Heong (6x). Meanwhile for Uber Cup, Tee Jin Yee (4x) and Woon Khe Wei (4x) are in the squad since 2008. Note: Malaysia did not qualify for year 2006 and 2012 Uber Cup Final.

its good to watch Sonia Cheah back in action again.... although she looked badly out of place and extremely nervous, a pale shadow of the player she once was. I hope she regains her form asap achieve her potential soon enough
Both teams needed a win badly to top the group and to avoid unfavorable knock-out stage draw. They don't wish to meet China as early as quarterfinal.
I think Ho Yen Mei Should have won. She got potential to be solid WS player for Malaysia because she got the physical attribute, but need to work on footwork, court coverage and deft touch. She can go far at least be better than TJY.
According to BWF she is 159cm tall (that was about the same height like Goh Jin Wei), I know this is incorrect. Yes, she is 20 yrs old and has room for improvement. Hope this lost is part of her learning curve to excel.
Good job Iskandar and Wei Feng. Also maybe now we can definitely kick out KKK-TBH from future tournament. Both of them even with scratch pairing perform like don't have any fighting spirit. Boon Heong looks like losing his powerful smashing and being infected by Kien Keat bad habits. Should have brought Tan Kian Meng and his partner instead.
