Taiwan or Chinese Taipei : 2020 Olympic participation at risk

    There's a referendum in Taiwan to change the name used in the Olympics to Taiwan instead of Chinese Taipei.

    However, if there is a majority, it still has to be approved by the IOC..the IOC has already stated it would not let Chinese Taipei change its name earlier in the year.

    Thus, the island might not be able to compete in the 2020 Olympics onwards.

    Hoping it won’t go as far as that though for the athletes at least, especially CTC and TTY.

    IOC is pretty corrupted these days, I doubt that they will let Taiwan uses 'Taiwan' in Tokyo. But I hope that some poor souls will make some mistakes in the broadcasting dept..... like what they did to the flags of North Korea and China, and sometimes Hong Kong in Rio.

    The name changed had been rejected on November 24 by the voters.
