Looks like she was simply struggling with an infection and didn't want to risk anything. So good news is that it's not a serious injury.
Compared to Momota's commendable persistence doggedly fighting despite his accumulated fatigue , this is quite disappointing for us TTY fans especially since she had 3 weeks off and she has next few weeks to rest until the SS finals. Sent from my SM-G965W using Tapatalk
Retiring means she foregoes the points this HK open as well as the money right? Or how is it counted... I recall the rules changed recently to prevent walkovers or something..
I think she will only earn her points and rewards up to the SF. Retiring isn't the same as walkover, and walkover only null the points when playing against a country mate.
Playing against her must be so frustrating... Edit #2: Just figured out how to make YouTube videos being embedded correctly in both Tapatalk and browser view. Either simply add the link via Tapatalk, or remove the "id=" in the code which is created if you embed it by browser.
Wrist does next to nothing in terms of power/speed generation. In all of badminton, not just this particular shot. All it influences is the angle and thus placement (last second change to a cross shot, for example). Another component for most backhand shots is the rotation around the forearm (supination in this case).
She is not feeling well, quite different from being fatigued. She is human afterall, no point in pushing herself too hard to further aggravate her illness.
what a relifef if it's not a serious injury. World Tour Final will be a boring tournament, if Tai Tzu Ying isn't participate in there.
Yeah, CM has withdrawn from WTF. Can't have both of them absent from WTF or else it will be less fun.
https://ca.victorsport.com/news/18101/為羽球而生─戴資穎 TTY interview for Victor Sept 2018. Excerpts: “My goals are never the trophies or as they say, that I want to prove myself. It’s always just to be fully committed to my trainings, to be sure-minded and ready even when the toughest challenge is ahead. ” “Championships are in the past. The no.1 ranking won’t stay forever. And records come and go. I don’t chase them. I just do what should be done, as a professional badminton athlete.” Sent from my SM-G965W using Tapatalk
Only one week before world tour final begin, I hope there's no more player withdraw from this tournament.
Yeah, withdrawing from WTF will reduce the quality of the tournament (supposedly) because a lower ranked player will replace the withdrew high ranked player.
