Syed Modi badminton tournament to begin Tuesday The news article taken from thaindian.com -- http://www.thaindian.com/newsportal...on-tournament-to-begin-tuesday_100289293.html
Saina, Anand start favourites in Syed Modi International Grand Prix http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/...ernational-Grand-Prix/articleshow/5341819.cms The top Indian mixed doubles pair of Jwala Gutta and V Diju pulled out owing to Jwala's foot infection.
Adnan Fauzi just defeated Aman Singh Bishen in 20 minutes flat. 21-6 21-5 Other interesting looking matches today, with my predicted winners in bold (my predictions are so strong, I never dare play PAW) Andre Tedjono vs Sumeeth Reddy Sai Praneet vs HS Pranoy Jeanine Cicognini vs Gayatri Vartak PC Thulasi vs Misaki Matsutomo Saili Rane vs Aditi Mutatkar PVSindhu vs Sayali Gokhale BTW, Sir Taufik will be playing a few show matches to entertain the local fans and give autographs/photos to kids. How nice of him!!
It is better Jwala takes rest. She is the stronger of the pair (poor Diju is always sidelines by media and fans) India needs her for important tournaments in coming year (not to mention Commonwealth Games, whose all matches I am going to watch in the new stadium).
Unfortunately, DD Sport being government owned channel is given least preference by private telecasters/operators. So most of the times it is on-air and off-TV
Last week this channel broadcasted live one local badminton tournament. It's very interesting when the reporter interviewed the players in English.
Andre K.Tedjono won his first match in this tourney and will face another home shuttler Sourabh Verma at R/32.
Adnan Fauzi!!!! This guy played four matches yeasterday, winning all of them in straight games. - two MS, one MD and one XD. True, not all of the opponents are what we call world class, but still, winning four matches in a day require enormous stamina. I think I will become his fan. GO Fauzi, just three matches today - win them all !!!!! Can anybody direct me to information about him. How old is he? What is his best performance till date? etc.
Saina, Chetan advance to pre-quarters of Syed Modi http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/...uarters-of-Syed-Modi/articleshow/5345027.cms:)
Not much info on him.. ..he started as a Singles specialist, made his mini splash in 2005-2006, but never really showed his true potential...you can read a bit of info abt Fauzi Adnan here (post #18): http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=25258&page=2
