Syed Modi Int.INDIA Masters 2015 : Qualification-FINAL (20th-25th January 2015)

I bet Srikanth will fight all the way to final and win the title, there will be no stopping him...!!

Dunno wat happen to Srikanth , fought so hard with two malaysian young players, Tan Kian Meng and Iskandar Zulkarnain ,expect a hard fight from CWF

Manu Attri & Partners, has made 2 more upsets yesterday, in MX & MD categories,

Manu Attri & Sumeeth Reddy (5th seed) vs Mads Duo (2) --- 21-18 4-21 24-22

Manu Attri & K.Maneesha vs Aik Quan Tan & Meng Yean Lee [7] --
23-21 10-21 21-10

In MD the 2nd game result 4-21 is quite strange.. What might have happened there.. ?

Today, K.Srikanth will face the in form H.S.Prannoy, and I suspect, it will be a tough match for Kidambi.

Also PV.Sindhu will face Carolina Marin as a repeat of the WC semifinal.

LIVE TV (court 1) :

1) Vladimir Ivanov/Ivan Sozonov (RUS) v Manu Attri/B.Sumeeth Reddy (IND)
2) Saina Nehwal (IND) v Nichaon Jindapon (THA)
3) Parupalli Kashyap (IND) v Viktor Axelsen (DEN)
4) Riky Widianto/Richi Puspita Dili (INA) v Chan Peng Soon/Lai Pei Jing (MAS)
5) P.V. Sindhu (IND) v Carolina Marin (ESP)

Host IND has representatives in all 5 categories with 1 MS final ticket has been guaranteed through Srikanth v Prannoy. IND MD pair Attri/Reddy did well here to knock out more fave MAS and DEN combos en route to last four. Both MS and WS also WD as well fulfill the script as top four seeded players march on to semi, we'll see whether the top-two seed meet in finale.

Srikanth had to go for an another 3 game match in semifinals.. this time it is with his compatriot H.S.Prannoy...

Srikanth won the match with 12-21, 21-12, 21-14

It's over for young Dane Viktor Axelsen as he lost to local hope P. Kashyap, 21-18 / 20-22 and 7-21. So, all IND Final for MS category tomorrow, Srikanth v Kashyap.

Tomorrows MS Final will be a nice encounter, btn current Indian #1, vs #2 w.r.t world rankings.

P.Kashyap vs K.Srikanth

Does anybody else think it's a little suspicious that 4 of the best pairs on paper in MD are drawn against each other in the first round?

MAS Khim Wah Lim
MAS Yao Han Ow
v
RUS Vladimir Ivanov [4]
RUS Ivan Sozonov

ENG Andrew Ellis
ENG Peter Mills
v
DEN Mads Conrad-Petersen [2]
DEN Mads Pieler Kolding

...considering that the rest of the draw is made up predominantly by Indian nobodies. (on the world stage)

Use of the word 'suspicious' is very unfair. It is a common knowledge that all international tournaments are administered by technical officials appointed by BWF. Tournament Referee and Umpires are appointed by BWF and they conduct tournament as per the rules set by BWF.

In the MD draw of 32 there are six seeded players and as per the norms they only get advantage of not meeting each other in the initial rounds of tournament.

It is also a very normal thing that some players get favorable or easy draw as compared to others.

As the term 'Draw' suggests, it is always a 'lucky draw' and there is nothing to suspect. At the most you can say that draw was not lucky to your favorite players.
