The way I see it...
LYD was so keen to get infront thus making lotta mistake from the back. Instead of trying to play good from the back, he was trying to get infront.

I think all tops pair standard are not far apart... stragety, mental and condition on that day play a big role.
TBH/KKK use to look invincible when they won All England and slowly opponent start to crack them into pieces...
