Still good enough without Lin Dan

Certainly is not the same if Lin Dan is not there, however, if Lin Dan is not interested and unprepared like in China and Hong Kong Super Series then I rather see some other capable Chinese rising star attending. Anyway, in this case, Lin Dan did not qualify. I don't mind Lin Dan not in his top form but please don't issue walkover just because you don't think you can win, is not fair to fan.
I still enjoy very much even without Lin Dan in Men's Single department, imagine we still have other events with stars like Lee Yong Dae, Saina Nehwal, Ma Jin, KKK/TBH, Fu/Cai, Danish players, ... I only feel sorry for Intanon(Thai player) as I don't think she qualify?
Here's the interesting scenario, if the same situation happen in Olympics 2012 where Lin Dan is 2 year older, will China chose Lin Dan over Chen Long and Chen Jin?
Also, The Final is played under more friendly enviroment, is like a All Star games entertaining and rewarding fans for continous supports, can never be like the regular intense Super Series. I still vividly recall the fantastic Grand Prix Final in 1998 matches between Sun Jun and Yong Hock Kin, what A match and the mutual respect shown between them, true spirit of sportmanships!

    off topic:
    ..it depends:
If CHN has 3 MS in the top 4 WR, and LD is in there, then there's no interesting scenario.
If CHN only has 2 MS in the top 4 or top 16 WR, then there'll be an interesting situation.
But my hunch says, LD is gonna go and attempt another shot at an unprecedented back-to-back OG MS Gold title.

I hope the CHN team takes this seriously and attend. It's an opportunity to pick up easy ranking points. With them in the bag, they can rest up later in the year if necessary.

It could cost the team $45,000 to skip the Finals like they did in 2008.

They can't rest up later in the year, though. Ranking points from now mean very little. Later in the year will be the Olympic qualifying period so no one will want to be resting at that time.

Great that LD can participate in the 2010 SSMF

    .
Great that LD can participate. But, how did you know?:confused::confused:

I thought LD wasn't able to qualify for this event because of insufficient SS Ranking Points acquired in 2010.

The SS Masters Finals is only for our top SS players

    .
I think many BCers do not realise that the SS Masters Finals is only for our top SS players, who have gained the highest SS ranking points over the last 12 months.

Because LD has won fewer SS tournaments/ranking points (because of non-participation), LD will not be qualified.

He is not qualified, and this is absolutely nice to see. the guys who skip the tourneys and disappoint the fans all over the world :mad:should not get any chance to collect the money at the end.
Don't get me wrong - I want to see him playing as often as possible:eek:, eventhough there is another one I want to win as often as possible:D

Maybe Lin Dan is under instructions by his bosses

    .
I am thinking the same like you too. Maybe Lin Dan is under instructions by his bosses (as in which tournaments to participate or to miss). :(:(:(
