Sorry, off-topic: I don't know whether it's the BC server lately or my PC. Every now and then when I refresh a BC page, it will just hang/freeze or any amendments/editions I made simply disappeared (so I just forget it). What a hassle. Never mind, just venting my frustration.

Back to topic: Yeah, how come there's no England? Scotland is there, even countries like Turkey, Lithuania, Kazakhstan can be found. Very strange indeed.

Without mens singles, S.Korea's team will fall

Its their weakest discipline and no one has filled Son Wan Ho or Lee Hyun Il's shoes

Next candidate is likely the hopeful of Lee Dong Keun

They might have withdrawn from the competition. I seem to recall that has happened in the past.

You may be using IE which says "recover page". Try other browsers, Google Chrome or Firefox.

Kenneth Jonassen said England is not participating in Sudirman cup to fully focus/train/prepare for the World Championship. He wants the team to peak during world championship.

    MS - Good
    WS - Weak
    XD - Good
    MD - Good
    WD - weak

They are inventors of this sport. Why should they withdraw ?? pity. Their future is going waste if their country has decided to withdraw :(. I feel sorry for them.:(

Thanks, I'm using Google Chrome and have tried Firefox before. Anyway, I suspect it could be one of the plugins I installed, will troubleshoot from there.

aikes. i actually not sure why that would happen. chrome shares the window resource with other tabs and plugins. so maybe that would affect it. but besides that, the server has been running quite speedily recently.

I think Thailand is another country that has withdrawn in the past.

And simply speaking, if they really trying to concentrate on the WC, that may be a reasonable tactical move. I think they have lost a lot of funding from the poor results of the Olympics. If they put in a good showing in the WC, they can have a better case for increased funding.

Latest news: CHN has included Lin Dan in their squad for the Sudirman Cup. Of course, whether he will play or not is another matter.

I agree with Rashid Sidek who commented that China are banking on Lin Dan to spark team spirit and unity.

If Tine didn't retire, Demark can give a good fight to China in WS, MD and XD. The rest of the teams have no chance at all even if LD is not playing.

Essentially no one can compete with Wang/Yu now. Korea has no one who can beat Chen Long unless Son Wan Ho comes back and that would still be a long shot as he has only beaten Chen once, 3 years ago. Neither Jang Ye Na nor Jung Kyung Eun have ever beaten a top Chinese pair in mixed. The only such win was by Shin Baek Cheol and Eom Hye Won at the French Open last fall.

So yes, Korea could theoretically beat China if they perform up to expectations in MD, beat the odds in WS, and then come up with a total fluke in MS or XD but that's a collection of very big IF's.

Tine played in Axiata Cup against Inthanon and lost in 3 games. I think there is a slight chance she may play in SC 2013. Frankly, LHI is playing very well forbid "age" and to think that he was asked to come out from retirement 4 years ago. This edition of SC belongs to China, now it's a battle for runner-up spot which I choose Indonesia or Korea (provided they do not meet China in SF.

Nope. Tine already retire from bwf tournament. She is still playing club badminton in Denmark. Just like Nathan who retire but still playing club badminton.

I don't think she will go to Sudirman cup. Denmark top players in the past did not put emphasis on TC/UC and SC.

Maybe they can have an exhibition game after China takes the gold - China against the world to make it more fun.

    CL - LCW
    LXI - Sanina Nehwal
    Boe/Mogensen - Cai/Fu
    Yu/Wang - Takahashi/Matshtomo
    Xu/MA - Ahmad/Natsir

    Good suggestion.
But I think India may not be around after Group matches. Juliane Schenk may be a better option. For WD, I think based on current form, the Korean pair is better. I support the other 3 suggested. :)
