LYB forced Lin Dan to play 5 times in this tournament. It looks too exploitated for me. China always give it best line up for every match. Just imagine, if you were China head coach, would you asked Lin Dan to play again Andew Smith, in case u have Bao CL and Cen Jin. It not make sense for me. I looks like he(LYB) is too selfish. He doesn't care about anything, he is the man without heart... huh...

I'd totally agree with u on that. But it could be that he wanted a 0 LOSS victory throughout the whole tourney that he kept sticking with the 1st strong lineup? It is a record now that they won the sudirman cup 2009 without losing a single game. xD

Chen Jin had back injury and probably still feeling it a bit these days, and Bao always had a bad knee...

LYB is a genius in terms of utilizing human resources, and if you don't believe me, just review the result of this year's Sudirman cup again.

How is it selfish to win:rolleyes::rolleyes:??

CJ is always injured, BCL has his knee problems, and CL hasn't proven himself yet. Why not rely on the trusty LD?

Err... he last time I checked, you play to win . Obviously LYB felt LD could handle the load otherwise he would not have risked him. Plus the injury issues mentioned by other posters may have forced LYB's hand

Msia had no choice (as you know), TCS couldnt even win vs HK's Chan Yan Kit or Ng Wei, much less PSH, PG. The Sudirman Cup is more for exposure to foback up MS, since he has never gone for team events bf. Last yr was Arif in TC, this yr is TCS's turn.:)

So far, no one has stepped up to host the next Sudirman Cup. IBF may want to take care of that before making any rule changes.

Realistically, even 8 teams in the top group is too many. Only the top five have a realistic chance to win. The current format gives many teams the satisfaction of winning their divisions.

... that paper ranking is on on total points..

if you look at their average point won per tournament, LD leads a mile over LCW, that really shows who has the better quality, and who's the real No.1..

... simply because LD wins more champions in %...

Sudirman Cup: New rules not released yet

    .
    Thanks eagle,

So we shall wait for BWF to release the details.
Agree ... IMHO, I believe that it's best to keep the present rules.

If teams cannot make it into Group 1, what would be their chances to win the Sudirman Cup?

Agreed.. LYB's idea to have Lin Dan in there would always ensure China a Point which is very crucial, especially in a team tournament.. Hehez.

Nontheless, The mixed doubles pair that China released in the Finals was really suprising.. Clinching the Mixed doubles would have boosted China to a 2-0 lead straight away as none of the Korea Single players would be actually on par with LD when playing in a tourney.

In the end. Well done China for a 0 Loss Victory in 2009 Sudirman Cup.
