"The Barfoot & Thompson match of the day on Thursday @ 5.30pm is men's singles between Lee Hyun Il (KOR) & AI Wei Jian (MAL)" what is this?
Watched the replay of He Bingjiao vs Ho Yen Mei match. Not a neat victory for HBJ, so full of unforced errors (and some forced ones). Perhaps she's not settled in yet but her youth and inexperience could have caused her a R1 exit against a stronger, more experienced opponent.
Chen Jin or Zhu Weilun should put in more speed, attack and deception into CYF's game. As it is her game is too one-dimensional, relying only on accurate rallying and placing of her shots. The same thing can be said of their other junior, Gao Fanjie. Both of them have good heights and the slim bodies to be good attacking players.
MD top two seeds, Chrisnanta/Triyachart and Adistia/Gunawan were ousted by the Thai and China young pairs respectively in very close match.
Lin Guipu lost the lead in G2 and almost lost it but somehow managed to equalize forcing the decider vs Huang Yuxiang.
HJH vs WFC match is going on. One free point was given to HJH. I dont know why?. When WFC hit a clear , finding it going out, HJH caught hold of the shuttle in his hand. And unfortunately, he was awarded a point. Lol. How come it's possible? Anybody !!
One game to the good with 21-7 in G1, Qiao Bin suddenly losing a hefty lead in G2, something's not right.
HJH ran away free as beat exhausted CWF in 3 games, while CWF's compatriot GSH defeat DHR in straight games...
There was a long pause at 24-all(somebody receiving medical attention?)...upon resumption, Zufadli forces the decider, 26-24.
Hmm...Qiao Bin takes G3, 21-14, over Zufadli. He had better be fully fit to handle Goh Soon Huat who is playing well so far, having just beaten Rumbaka in two straight sets in identical score of 21-17.
Some documentary action photos I took today at this event Please do not use images without permission. Thanks.
Well miss all the matches and I was not able to watch any matches live today due to my busy schedule. However. when I checked the results on the BWF website, I was indeed surprised to see some big upsets created today. First of all, Lee Hyun Il won the match today 21-14, 21-7. Well I never expect this old veteran player to win the match today with such a big marginal score. Anyway congratulations for winning the match today. Next, Goh Soon Huat won against Dionysus Hayom Rumbaka today. Wow what a great and big surprise for me. I never expect him to win the match 21-17, 21-17. Wow he managed to win against a great and experienced senior player. Amazing. Finally, Goh V Shem / Tan Wee Kiong won the match today 21-11, 21-14. I still remembered the silver medal they won in the recent Swiss Open. I believe that both of them can win again in the quarter finals tomorrow. Just hope that both of them can reach the finals. Huan Xia / Zhong Qianxin also won their match 21-17, 21-12 today. Well all I can say is China really have endless supply for good WD players and even their WD youngsters can win in tournaments. Congratulations.
With the unlimited supply of population and tough competition in the CHN badminton system especially in WS, WD is naturally an alternative to pursue.
Well Goh Soon Huat did quite well not to mention about winning Guo Kai in the first round of the tournament. Well, since they are players better than Goh Soon Huat, hence he is not selected.
