Hi there. I was just wondering what categories people like to play in badminton, would be interesting to know who likes to cover all the bases like me and do mixed doubles, men's doubles and singles! I was hoping that from this thread I would be able to see how common it is to see players like me participating in all the categories, and if not see why people choose specific ones / limit their categories with pros and cons, if possible. Essentially I am trying to decide whether I should drop a doubles category to do singles competitively. Thanks!
Singles all the way Sadly semi-retired My main aim is to give a hard game to all the guys (and girls) who can run rings around me. Singles is great because it solely depends on you. No partner to blame.
Competitively, singles. Recreationally, all, although mixed doubles games are more common than level doubles.
I play league mens doubles and mixed doubles during club night as I don't have time right now to play league in mixed. Sadly singles is on a back burner at the moment due to lack of time, hopefully will pick it back up in the spring and I will be a stone lighter as running the marathon in April that will make me fitter. Never get a chance to play singles although I would like to. Mixed doubles for me. Level doubles once in a while.
Same for me. Though, in league matches and tournaments I hardly play singles nowadays anymore. Age takes its toll (mid 30ies)...
I mainly play doubles (mixed or men's); I'm not a league player or anything though. I'm currently building up my singles game when I can, because I'm quite inept at singles. My footwork needs improving a lot for it - but it's gradually getting there.
I play doubles and singles competitively. I would like to play more mixed doubles too, but we have a lack of women.
Both! doubles and singles are completely different game..if u love badminton, u should play both..either game will help u improve on the others..but to play even an intermediate singles game u should have at least a moderate stamina...
Both actually. They are two different style of game. Single long and hard. Doubles just smash or get smashed type vibe. (Depending the level you playing at) but both have their own enjoyable areas. Badminton in general is awesome ) So whatever or which ever game is played. It'll be fun
