maybe its just me but it looks like the top half of the draw is tougher with lin peter and taufik grouped together -many possible contenders in bottom half with bao possibly having easier draw until a possible clash with chong wei in quarters
    - will choong hann prevent re-match between lin and ronald? many possible great matches in second round
    wong v ronald
    gade v shon
    hidayat v santoso
    sony v xia
    roslin v jonassen
very strong line-up just cant wait

What is the traditional format? You may want to see the "static" draw instead of the "animated" draw. I always find the animated one very annoying, wonder why they kept having it? Why can't they have draws like those in the tennis grand slam tournaments?

Yes, I agree with hcyong that the animated draw in the worldbadminton.net website is terribly annoying.

Also from the static draw you can "Export to MS-Excel" and do your printing from the spreadsheet.

    MS (R16 seeded lineup)
    Lin Dan (1*) v Wong CH (11*)
A rematch between Lin and Jang Young Soo in the second round. Wong CH faces Ronald in second round. Lin should have no problems getting through here.
    Hafiz (6*) v Ng Wei (9*)
An in-form Hafiz will have no problems getting into Qfinals.
    Peter Gade (3*) v Dicky Palyama (15*)
Other than Shon in R32, Peter Gade is set to breeze into Qfinals.
    Taufik (8*) v Sairol Amar (16*)
No difficulties for Taufik to get to Qfinals.
    Bao CL (5*) v Kuan BH (12*)
Looks like a piece of cake for Bao for the Qfinals.
    Lee CW (4*) v Boonsak (10*)
Lee CW has Chen Jin in first round, while Boonsak has Lee HI and then possibly Lee TS in the R32.
    Chen Hong (7*) v Kaldau (13*)
Relatively easy for Chen Hong to get to the Qfinals here.
    Kenneth (2*) v Shoji Sato (14*)
In R32, Kenneth may face Roslin (or local boy Kendrick). Shoji will probably not survive to meet Kenneth. First round vs Xia XZ, then either Sony or Chen Yu. This is a tough part of the draw.

Looking at the qualification draw, I noticed that Wimpie Mahardi is now representing Singapore. Also, there are a number of Malaysians, especially the Project 2010/12 players under the charge of Rashid. Gong Weijie is in there, and assuming he comes through, he takes on Yeoh Kay Bin and then Hafiz.

    WS (QF seeded lineup)
    Xie XF (1*) v Zhou Mi (8*)
Xie looks to roll over every one else in this quarter. But Zhou Mi is also championship material.
    Yao Jie (4*) v Tracey Hallam (7*)
    Pi Hongyan (3*) v Xu Huaiwen (6*)
Xu has Mia for a first-round opponent.
    Zhang Ning (2*) v Wang Chen (5*)
Zhang Ning starts off with Hirose.

Both Singapore girls avoided seeds. Li Li will face Vattier, while Xing AY will face Yuan Wemyss (the attractive Scot with Chinese origin) in the 1st round.

Looking at the qualification draw, Wong MC has to fight with Zhu Lin for the main draw. Other than that, looks straight-forward for Jiang Yanjiao, Lu Lan and Camilla Sorensen for the other 3 spots.

    MD (QF seeded lineup)
    Eriksen/Lundgaard (1*) v Cai/Fu (5*)
Cai/Fu face Choong/Lee right in the opening round; I think not only will they get past, they will get to the SFinals.
    Candra/Sigit (4*) v Chan/Koo (8*)
Chan/Koo may lose to Flandi/Eng in the first round. Also in this quarter, Sang Yang is now partnered with Guo Zhendong. I think Candra/Sigit will get to the SFinals from this quarter.
    Paaske/Rasmussen (3*) v Jung/Lee (7*)
Zheng Bo is now partnered with Xie Zhongbo and face LP/JR in the opening round. I predict LP/JR to get to the SFinals from this quarter.
    Luluk/Alven (2*) v Boe/Mogensen (6*)
Boe/Mogensen face Tan/Ong in the second round. Luluk/Alven big favourites to get to the SFinals here.

There are other names I did not mention. There are many potentially explosive matches right from the start.

In the qualification draw, it's noteworthy that Malaysians Hoon/Tan (WJ champs) and Chew/Wong are there.

    WD (QF seeded lineup)
    Yang/Zhang (1*) v Saralee/Sathinee (6*)
A repeat of last year's final
    Gao/Huang (3*) v Olsen/Schjoldager (5*)
    Lee/Lee (4*) v Wong/Chin (8*)
    Zhang/Zhang (7*) v Wei/Zhao (2*)

Don't see much upsets before this stage except for Wong/Chin who may lose to Munt/Hallam in the second round.

A surprise to see Du/Yu missing.

    XD (QF seeded lineup)
    Robertson/Emms (1*) v Sudket/Saralee (6*)
A bummer for Saputra/Li as they face the World #1 in the opening round. Predict Robertson/Emms to get to the SFinals here, but this is the QFinal to watch out for.
    Chen/Zhao (4*) v Widianto/Natsir (5*)
Chen/Zhao face Laybourn/Juhl in the opening round. Predict Widianto/Natsir to get to the SFinals but will be a close affair.
    Eriksen/Schjoldager (3*) v Blair/Munt (8*)
    Easy-peasy for the Danes.
    Zhang/Gao (2*) v Lee JJ/Lee HJ (7*)
Koo/Wong face Zhang/Gao in the second round. Koreans face Xie Zhongbo/Zhang Yawen in the opening round. Predict the Chinese here.

This is going to be a tightly contested event. The XD event has become a major event in its own right.

In the qualification draw, you can find Jung Jae Sung/Lee Kyung Won.

I hope XXZ do good in this event, as it is likely that he is approaching the end of his pro badminton player career soon. Yet by looking at the draws, it is real tough for him even to get into Qfinal. :(
