Yesterday it was Yeo Jia Min who delighted the Singapore crowd, today it's Loh Kean Yew's turn to shine, he's just ended Lucas Corvee's campaign here in two straight sets.

His vast experience contributes the victory today, but yes it's not easy for 38 years old against much younger opponent in terms of stamina. Next, Lee will take on local fave Loh Kean Yew.

Hu Yun is not going down without a fight, leading comfortably in G2 now

Both Huang YX & Qiao Bin are stagnant or no more progress lately, CHN needs new young prospects desperately.

Yup, they've reached their limits, no room for improvement anymore.

Huang YX just got on the last bus to the Nanjing WC as the 7th reserve, I think he received news of his invitation last week and then lost to Sony easily, perhaps too excited by the news to concentrate on the match. Just saying.

Has Luan Jin left HK China? I've not seen him on the coaching chair for a long time.

Huang Yuxiang can play well but not often enough, and inconsistent

Zhang Yiman was handpicked by Zhang Ning as one of the five CHN WS she wanted to groom, and she lost in R1 to Chloe Birch. Disappointing.

If P Kashyap conceded walkover to teammate Sameer Verma, then the latter won't get any ranking points

Cai Yanyan and Gao Fangjie are much better than her to back up their leading players Chen Yufei and He Bingjiao.

    ROUND OF 16 (02.00pm) => https://www.tournamentsoftware.com/...DEC522-C306-4A2A-9EC1-3C6DA23F4B33&d=20180719

    *Match Highlights :
    - Huang Yuxiang (CHN) v Ng Ka Long (HKG)
    - Michelle Li (CAN) v Minatsu Mitani (JPN)
    - Busanan Ongbamrungphan (THA) v Gao Fangjie (CHN)
    - Ou XY/Ren XY (CHN) v Rankireddy/Shetty (IND)
    - Puavaranukroh/Taerattanachai (THA) v Adcock/Adcock (ENG)
    • It's contrast fashion for Sai Praneeth when he topped podium last year but ended his journey very early this time, eliminated by Yu Igarashi. Confidence problem hampers the Indian to clear Japanese player who's known widely has good fighting spirit element. Praneeth couldn't maintain the leading in third game, 9-4, 11-8 then Igarashi took over and booked last sixteen spot, 21-18.
    • Top-seed Chou Tien Chen vanquished Sony Dwi Kuncoro and is expected to check into quarterfinal while Ng Ka Long fought hard to down Englishman Toby Penty and will up against Huang Yuxiang today. It's not good day for Thailand MS, only Pannawit Thongnuam and Khosit Phetpradab left in the fray as Kantaphon, Tanongsak and Suppanyu faltered simultaneously yesterday..
    • WS third seed also former SGP player Zhang Beiwen was sent packing early by China blossoming talent Cai Yanyan, the aggressive and nothing to lose Cai really troubled Zhang with her attacking shots. Michelle Li almost bit the dust, having hard times to conquer Indonesian Lyanny Mainaky. The Canadian will face tough test in next round, Minatsu Mitani. Other title contenders, Nitchaon Jindapol and Sayaka Takahashi pass first round comfortably.
    • MD top-seed out of competition, INA Open Super 1000 semifinalists Liao MC/Su CH found early exit, lost to HKG scratch partnerships Lee CH/Or CC in rubber games. Two-time world Champion Ahsan/Setiawan should have no problem to march on last eight and will meet either Thailand or Singapore combination tomorrow.
    • An unexpected losing also surges Haris/Pradipta who occupy seeding number two here, the Indonesians can't find the answer to overcome England duo Pugh/Smith. Women's doubles powerhouse Japan has secured two quarterfinal spot with Sakuramoto/Takahata and Fukuman/Yonao are favoured to prevail in all Japanese affairs.
    • Second round intriguing tie in mixed doubles will pit Thailand aces Puavaranukroh/Taerattanachai oppose European champion Adcock/Adcock. The Olympic Champion Ahmad/Natsir will be challenged by local pair Chrisnanta/Crystal Wong.
