Now we are gathering at the Yonex Booth. Saw the players outside, waiting for transport.

Let's see what Simon can do tomorrow. I think he can definitely do better than PG.

Yes, it was obvious Vita had a problem. Lilyana was trying to cover her and going for broke, trying for risky winners. It was quite obvious to me who was going to win. The Taiwanese pair were making tonnes of unforced errors (sometimes it's hard to play against injured players), so it was longer than it should be.

Peter Gade was in his elements much of the first game, but after that either LCW stepped up or Peter stepped down, I don't know which. Both played well, it was the best match of the day for me.

Tine looked big, strong and sharp against WMC. On the basis of today's form, I think Tine is the hot favourite for the Olympics gold (except that it's in China this time, so make that semi-hot). Her cross-court smash to WMC's backhand was especially devastating. In the second game, WMC stepped up her pace and things got better. With her physique and style of play, her only way against Tine is to intercept like mad. She could beat Tine but she need to run a marathon.

The Korean MD pair was quite impressive defensively, but rather raw overall. The hi-five fuzzies targetted their attack on the less experienced Cho Gun Woo. Give them some time, and they will be hard to beat. (Cho was the WJ Champion partnering Lee YD.)

First time I see Saina Nehwal play today, although unfortunately, it's the same time as LCW-Gade. She retrieves very well, but Zhou Mi was fitter.
