congrats simon, such a tremendous game, i thought that he will be slaughtered by LCW beforehand. if he gets a spot for TC, he will certainly strengthen the thomas cup squad.

this might the best chance for INA to bring home the cup?

Cmon... what part of town in Singapore are you from? Astec and flypower are 2 indonesian brands owned by ex INA players. Flypower is pretty known in MAS. It is owned by Fung Permadi. Astec is Alan Budi Kusuma/Susi Susanti Tech.

Is it true that the line up in MS forbThomas Cup is based on Ranking? If INA want to enter Simon he can't go ahead of Sony and Hayom as MS #2? INA better put Tommy #1, Simon #2, Jojo #3. Kick out Hayom.

Against CHINA in Thomad Cup, what is the best lineup for INA?

CHN : CL, WZM, DPY, Lin Dan, THW, WS.

really agree with this, I always think SDK and SS is great player after TH era but injury and incosistency make their achievement not so good...I think it's still too early for Jojo play in thomas cup, I think Ihsan more ready than Jojo.....

Came to the Singapore Open as a qualifier!
Dropped only one game to DPY in the semi-finals!
And won the title by dumping LCW out in 48 minutes!

This is not Simon Santoso. It is someone else!

Congratulations to whoever you are! :D

A warm and proud welcome back to Simon Santoso :) :) :)

Hopefully he can show consistency and keep his game up in the future~~

Might it be..he is a late blossom like Hendrawan and finally bag a big title in his old age? I hope so! Jia You Simon!!!

Btw I think be out of Pelatnas is something good for him and just like away from 'the jinx' :D

yes, yes, yes me too.. I really like his confidence :D
I also always think he has the skills but lack champion mentality.

He is definitely not like Simon I knew, strange surprise to see him on court very confidence, focus + ready since beginning, and playing very sharp attack! Hah..Simon you see 'the lazy style' wasn't good for you, leave it! Just keep up the focus, confidence, determine, and attacking game like in SO Final. Thats Simon best badminton I ever seen.

May be Rexy 'shock therapy' so he out of Pelatnas is blessing him. So Simon can play freely, motivated and better.

Anyway really happy for THE NEW BORN SIMON SANTOSO :)

Jojo has far better achievement than Ihsan, imo. Jojo has won an IC and be a GPG quarterfinalist. Jojo's rank is indeed far better than Ihsan.

Anw, indonesia's best thomas cup team for current condition is TS, SDK, SS, and Jojo. Thus, against CHN the formation sohuld be TS vs CL, SS vs DPY/WZM, and Jo vs LD.

What a dominating display he put on last night. I wonder if LCW was ill-prepared for that match as he might spend more time analyzing the Chinese players' play compared to other players. It'll be interesting to see if Simon can continue his current form to the next tournaments. There are many players other than LD and CL who had beaten LCW in the past but those eventually became one-offs.

INA will win both MDs, 1MS from SS and Thomas cup will be taken back to INA.

Cai/Lu is a dark horse. I am worried to rely on INA 2nd MD pair: Angga/Rian to deliver the last point for INA.

Correct, i have to rephrase my sentences to be INA has to win both MD's & 1 MS from Simon to secure Thomas Cup. These 3 matches have the highest possibility of winning, IMO. Angga/Rian has to shoulder the pressure and prevail, just like what they did at 2013 SC beating CAI/FU.

Though I welcome Simon new found prowess but don't celebrate yet. See whether he can keep up with his form. for the next few months. Still to early to tell. But Syabas Simon.
